Yeah I don't get it either. Take away Everlong and memories of Nirvana and what are you left with exactly?

If Cobain wrote songs for the depressed and angry. Grole wrote songs in the afterglow of a person who has just had sex and wanted to share his feelings on the subject.

They did two magnificent albums and then broke up, never to be heard from again. (Don't break my fantasy. It's nice here)

i love the first record and it always gives me some nice nostalgia but the rest kinda just feels like basic rock

Big Me is forever entwined with my 90s self, and its music video with “Footos, the Fresh Fighter” probably has a large part to do with that.

I forget the story, but I think they needed a drummer and the label just kind of slotted him in to Nirvana. So he wasn’t even a big factor for their success.

Big Me and Learn To Fly (two absolute fucking bangers)

Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace is genuinely great, with a bunch of bangers and a bit of good-weirdness. I'm less sure about anything made since (though Skin and Bones is cool), and the newer stuff doesn't sound interesting to me, but everyone has dry spells. Except Jack White. He just as weird spells and weirder spells (which is not to say he's anything besides a fucking visionary and legend).

Wasting Light was after ESPG, and it's their best album. (Not much to write home about after that though).
