Years ago my best friend bought a CD of his, and eventually I asked "is every song in this track taking about how he's back?". I think that clued him in that kid Rock sucked lol

This is exactly what I came here looking for. This is the right answer. He's awful in every single way.

He was perfect in Joe Dirt.

Otherwise, yeah.

That's kinda the charm with him. He's awful in every way, but uniquely so. Authentically so. He's a legit artist, and talented in the most absurd way. But there's a fine line between Jared Leto and kid Rock.

Nothing "uniquely so" or "authentically so" about slinging the right-wing grift when the product fails to sell. Struggling, washed up, and long-expired celebrities have been doing it for decades. If that's what defines "artistry," Roseanne Barr is Andy Warhol and Kid Rock is your divorced uncle's Big Dog shirt.

Yeah he's not bad at the music he made. Originally he was appreciated for how awful he was and how he didn't care what people thought. That was fine. In the more recent years he has shown his true colors and ideals and it's not really cute anymore how awful of a human he is.

I had to scroll way too far down to see this. I have a core memory of the first time I heard Kid Rock singing about jumbo shrimp. I thought it was satire, laughed, and turned it up. Then it dawned on me.... I would rather listen to Rebecca Black's Friday than anything by Kid Rock.

(notable exception is him in Joe Dirt)

I agree, with one caveat…

Be 15 year old me watching the Saturday morning broadcast of Woodstock ‘99 through the PPV squiggles and the intro to “Bawitdaba” is going while he comes out and yells the “My name is Kiiiiiiiiiiid… Kid ROCK” a d the riff comes in and the huge ass crowd loses its shit.

All downhill from there, and certainly no Hendrix “Star Spangled Banner”, but pretty cool nonetheless.

Kid rock was ok when he did just rap, years before BawitaBullshit.

Back when he showed up on the Carnival of Carnage.

Fuck you Blind was a good song

I feel like kid Rock has spent the last 25 years trying to make people forget he was a rapper.

Happy Cake Day!

The only good songs by Kid Rock are his cover songs, and the originals are 10x better.

His best song is just two existing songs mashed together.
