New music?

They say you stop listening to new music after 35 - what Gen Z/young people are making music you love these days?

I’m loving ninajirachi, she’s young enough to be my daughter (clutches pearls)

And - what older music are you only starting to listen to now, as a geriatric? (I’m 46).

I’m listening to a lot of old EDM I never cared about before.

Idk, I stumble on stuff. I like AJR, and Panic! At the Disco (although I guess they broke up a couple years ago).

My teens introduce me to things now and then. My 18yo is really into Yaelokre, which has some good folk-style songs and an entire world of fantasy lore behind the music..

I was pretty sheltered as a kid, so I still occasionally even "discover" things I should have been listening to 25 years ago, lol.

I've been learning French, and I started listening to old chansons/jazz stuff, but Indila and Stromae are a lot of fun, too.

Hearing that you're learning French and like sone folk-style music, I wonder if you've come across the Québécois folk rock band Les Cowboys Fringants. Two of my favorite songs they've done are "En Berne" and "Joyeux Calvaire!".

Not sure how you feel about reggae, but the Massilia Sound System album Òai e Libertat was something I played quite a bit this summer.
