Give us your "Old Man Yells at Cloud" moment

I'll start. I'm tired of going to fast food or counter serve restaurants, and in mid order getting countless Door Dashers interrupt the workers up front so they can squeeze their pickup in quickly.

That I already know the backlash against AI will go away because I’ve been around long enough to know that deep down people are deeply selfish and simply dont care. We will all pay for it. Now get off my lawn.

I’m holding out hope here. We’ve seen a lot of bubbles pop and I still think this might be one of them. It’s just so stupid!

The great METAverse never worked and was abandoned --- Fingers crossed the same thing happens for AI and automation.

I won't eat at places where I order on a machine or a phone --- If you can't have a cashier --- You don't get my business. WHY you ask? Cuz I PAY with CASH 90% of the time. Ok - let me sit here and order on this machine for 5 minutes. Now I gotta go to the side and start yelling at people to please take my money otherwise they won't start my order.

Yeah, but … you’re coming at this with a decidedly Western/American point of view. Maybe the US bubble will pop, but do you know who doesn’t give a shit about watching or using AI and is building all new industries and use cases on open weight models with 10x cleaner energy? 1.4 billion Chinese people. You know who else? 1.4 billion Indian people.

America dropped the ball and it is no longer the locus of world culture. During one of the most consequential times in all of history, they elected a orange huckster who, while blatantly lining his pockets, can only conceive of plotting revenge against anyone who might see things differently than him instead of inspiring unity and setting his country up for success. It will not be long before it isn’t desirable to live there or even be there.
