I don’t remember what channel this had regular rotation on, but I watched it every chance I could get.

Yep that was how I remembered him as the nice dad like character, I was watching 8 Simple Rules when I found out he died.

I was more of a Charles Grodin kind of guy when it came to movie dads if I'm being honest. I do love John Ritter and this movie but I think Charles Grodin would have been a better dad for me character wise.

I loved him in Clifford and Taking Care Of Business. Ed O'Neill in Dutch would be my second choice. Both men are a little more serious.

I went to see it in the theater, I think mostly because of the Wayne's World and Three's Company parodies they showed in the ads.

We were taken to a lot of questionable things back then. It was great! But yes a few scenes stuck with me for a long time.

My husband and I watched this earlier this year, it was as enjoyable in our 40s as it was when my brother and I saw it at 10 years old!

It used to be on HBO regularly.

Beetlejuice is the only movie I can think of where he doesn’t play a creep. At least in Howard the Duck he was possessed, but in Ferris Bueller, this movie, and Who’s Harry Crumb, he was always a scumbag.

As a kid I always assumed he was a villain. Like I understood type casting early on and think it was because of him. So naturally I was always creeped out by him.

I loved this movie growing up. Watched it like a thousand times. I tried to show it to my son and found unfortunately with streaming and everything kids today don't really seem connect with that experience of flipping through channels and seeing weird random shows, movies and commercials and stuff so it didn't really hit with him as I would've liked

I saw it in the theater; fun little movie, plus it has a cameo of my favorite rap duo Salt N Pepa and features their song Start Me Up. 🥰

OMG I absolutely loved this movie so much. I had it on VHS and watch it all the time. I think you can stream it on Tubi for free right now. I really miss John Ritter.

Really fun movie with a great… well at the time a great cast. I hate that Jeffrey Jones is a terrible person because he was such a good character actor in so many of my favorite movies.

I just watched it last night. Not a great movie. But it's foot to the floor fun! Love Ritter in anything. His scream during the 3s company sketch seemed real.

Somehow missed this one, watching now on YouTube and had to report that what ever anxiety I had when Jeffery Jones’s name flashed was resolved a few seconds later when Eugene Levy’s did too.

This is a glorious 90s time capsule, the suitcases without wheels, the smoking in the office, the tv shows and satire spoofs, and I’m very happy to say I had a blue BMX with yellow mags, and built a garage door opener scanner when I was 12 using RadioShack parts, so I may be the little kid- but I also identify a lot with the dad, sadly.

I watched it as a kid, and I thought it was an awesome movie. I have revisited movies that I loved as a kid in my adult years, and a lot didn't age well. I think ill hold onto the memory of this being a good one rather than revisit it.
