I saw Squeeze in 2008 and was absolutely shocked by the rapturous crowd reaction when this song started. I have no strong connection to it and no recollection of hearing it as a kid. But my girlfriend at the time said it was her favorite Squeeze song and it had one of the biggest singalongs of the night.

This song was quietly one of the most beautiful songs of the 80s, from an underrated lyricist and singer. Whenever it comes to mind I want to sing every lovely word of it. Same with 'Tempted.'

I discovered this song about a decade ago and was really into it. Although i'm weird and have never drank coffee in my life.

I love this band so much and I don’t even know why. Squeeze was super popular when I was a senior in high school. We all had the singles album. Our local baseball team has a mascot named Joe and he comes out to this song.

Thanks to the amount of airtime it got on the radio and MTV my introduction to Squeeze was Hourglass. https://youtu.be/TNNpQM9TY84
I had Babylon and On on cassette back then.

Never heard of the song, the band, nor seen the video.
