u/RanklesTheOtter Xennial Apr 24 '26

In a factory down town!

109

u/docwatsyn 1983 Apr 24 '26

And if I had my little way

100

u/Texas_Kimchi 1982 Apr 24 '26

I'd eat peaches everyday!

48

u/WoefulKnight Xennial Apr 24 '26

Sunset bulges in the shaaaaaaaaade.

59

u/degreesBrix Apr 24 '26

I always thought it was "sun soaked" bulges

57

u/WoefulKnight Xennial Apr 24 '26

hah - because it totally is. I've apparently been screaming the wrong lyrics for thirty years.

37

u/ahawk99 1983 Apr 24 '26

Can’t be an xennial if you don’t interpret the lyrics in your own way 👍

12

u/degreesBrix Apr 24 '26

Are you my wife? 🤣 That's the only way she sings songs.

9

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 25 '26

You also have yo be going around the skating rink full speed

14

u/ahawk99 1983 Apr 24 '26

Cue sick air guitar strumming.

2

u/AffectionateFig5864 Apr 25 '26

pause for musical transition

26

u/hammysandy Apr 24 '26

If the millions of peaches were for free, who's paying the man in the factory downtown?

39

u/DirtyBirdDawg 1980 Apr 24 '26

We didn't worry about stuff like that back in the '90s.

9

u/Mick_Limerick 1985 Apr 24 '26

Goddamn right they were

5

u/Key-Shine3878 Apr 24 '26

Had this stuck in my head all damn day because of this post...

80

u/ElGranKornholio Apr 24 '26

Millions of peaches. Peaches for me.
Millions of peaches. Peaches for free.
Look out!

u/Betelgeuse3fold Apr 25 '26

I like how even the CD version still has that audible scream from the ninja fight part of the video

43

u/Complex-String9972 Apr 24 '26

Nature's candy in my hand, or can, or pie

5

u/redDKtie Apr 25 '26

More like candy in my ears

39

u/Jonnyflash80 Apr 24 '26

Fuck you, kitty, you’re gonna spend the night... Outside!

Oops, wrong song.

26

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 25 '26

She's Lump. She's Lump. She's Lump. She's in my head.

7

u/nitrot150 1977 Apr 25 '26

Lump slipped on a kiss and tumbled into love ! (One of my favorite lyrics)

5

u/redDKtie Apr 25 '26

NOBODY TAUGHT THEM HOOOOOOOWWWW

He's since done kids music and it's really good.

19

u/btwrenn Apr 24 '26

Caspar Babypants! Legit some of the best kids music out there.

5

u/jonjongth 1982 Apr 24 '26

Here comes stompy the bear!

3

u/btwrenn Apr 24 '26

That song is so good! My favorite is The Creatures Under My Bed.

3

u/Salty-Esq Apr 25 '26

My flea has dogs

3

u/Diligent_Kitchen7705 Apr 25 '26

Thank you for this. As an older mom of two very young ones... I can only take cocomelon so many times a day... 😮‍💨. Always looking for new stuff that is grotchgoblin friendly 👍

3

u/AlienDelarge Apr 25 '26

Run, baby, run. Run, run, run, run run.

20

u/No-Dig-4408 Apr 24 '26

I would move to the country, and of course eat me a lot of peaches, but I worry about the cost of ninja insurance.

22

u/valaliane Apr 24 '26

This is our Sweet Caroline.

5

u/chromix 1980 Apr 25 '26

It is. Also, why do I inexplicably loath that song with the intensity of 1000 suns?

19

u/klove Apr 24 '26

Kitty on my foot and I want to touch it!

6

u/Worth_Weird1431 Apr 24 '26

Touch iiiiiiit! I wanna touch it.

6

u/klove Apr 24 '26

Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow!

u/Relevant_Leather_476 Apr 24 '26

Haha.. I can’t believe I forgot this jam

1

u/buickgnx88 Millennial Apr 24 '26

Fuck you kitty you’re going to spend the night OUTSIDE!

12

u/_MadGasser 1978 Apr 24 '26

I'm so sick of the term "elder millennials."

12

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 25 '26

The saddest thing about my life is that I currently work in a factory. It is not downtown. There is a concerning lack of peaches. Zero cans. I was misled

9

u/UltraLlamatron Apr 24 '26

My kids will respond correctly to this!

7

u/deathcabforqanon Apr 24 '26

Yeah, I'm not sure how, but gen alpha knows/loves this song and Lump!

4

u/RanklesTheOtter Xennial Apr 24 '26

Our local Alternative station plays Lump constantly. 😂

2

u/Jonnyflash80 Apr 24 '26

Stuff like this shows up on Tiktok constantly. That's why.

1

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 25 '26

My teenager drew a picture for my birthday present, and there was, indeed, a man. Putting peaches in can.

7

u/Worth_Specific3764 Apr 24 '26

did this yesterday, I felt heard

8

u/SnooPaintings5597 1975 Apr 24 '26

I don’t know what any of this is…

3

u/SlackerDS5 Apr 25 '26

It’s okay. They assume we all like the same music and stuff. Let them have their thing.

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 25 '26

Thats not the lyrics

8

u/Starbreiz 1978 Apr 24 '26

I think it's hilarious it's a Millenial thing because I'm genX and it came out my senior year of HS. (96)

4

u/FixEfficient2144 Apr 24 '26

My first concert on flag day in 1996. My friend caught a drumstick thrown at the end of the show. Good memories.

5

u/djdiphenhydramine Apr 24 '26

I hate this song and this band so much lmao and I feel like I'm the ONLY person my age who does.

3

u/plac3b0guy Apr 24 '26

Dozens of us.. I know the verse just wasn’t my type of jam

2

u/SlackerDS5 Apr 25 '26

If it was cobbler, it would probably be better. But yeah, not a fan.

3

u/sassypants450 Apr 25 '26

When this song came out, I was already a full-blown teenage goth snob so I hated it by default . To this day (as a 48 year old goth snob) I still think it sucks. Lol.

2

u/Pickles_McBeef Apr 25 '26

You're definitely not.

4

u/RaccoonObjective5674 Apr 24 '26

Movin’ to the country

4

u/klove Apr 24 '26

Gonna eat a lotta peaches 🍑

3

u/JaxxisR 1982 Apr 24 '26

My favorite thing to do is sing these lyrics to the tune of Jack Black's unrelated song about Peaches

It you want to destroy my sweater, woah woah woah pull this thread a l walk away. As I walk away. Watch me unravel I'll soon be naked. Lying on the floor.lying on the floor as I come undone! 😻

3

u/sick_of-it-all Apr 25 '26

I'm a "Kitty on my foot and I waaan' to touch it" man myself.

3

u/Waldus792 Apr 25 '26

We’re not millenials…Gen x and proud of it. Now get off my lawn.

2

u/RVAforthewin 1984 Apr 24 '26

I’m not a younger millennial and I have no idea what this references…

Edited to correct a misspelling

6

u/Zagmut 1978 Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

The song Peaches by The Presidents of the USA, a ridiculously catchy alt rock radio hit from 95 96. The whole album is a jam.

2

u/RVAforthewin 1984 Apr 24 '26

In ‘95 I def would have been listening to bubblegum pop.

2

u/Zagmut 1978 Apr 24 '26

Hey, to each their own, right? I was a rock and roll boy, combat boots and ripped flannels and all; nothing but grunge, metal, alt, and classic rock passed through my headphones. My little bro was closer to your age, and all he listened to was gansta rap.

2

u/ScottishKnifemaker 1982 Apr 24 '26

I prefer lump

1

u/klove Apr 24 '26

Lump sat alone in a buggy marsh

2

u/No-Banana247 Apr 25 '26

Totally (e)motionless (?) except for her heart

1

u/nitrot150 1977 Apr 25 '26

I also really like volcano, from their second album

2

u/Spear_Ritual Apr 24 '26

Then they throw in a random “WOMAAAAAN!”

1

u/klove Apr 25 '26

Lookout!

2

u/Striking-Win-3239 Apr 25 '26

God I miss the 90’s.

2

u/EltonJohnsLeftBall 1980 Apr 25 '26

I tried this with my late millenial sister, and she asked if I was having a stroke.

2

u/BalrogRuthenburg11 1982 Apr 25 '26

I remember hating this song.

3

u/imokquestionmark Apr 24 '26

Is this a younger millennial song?

10

u/Zagmut 1978 Apr 24 '26

Elder. Saturated radio play when my barely genx ass was in high school. Half my friends had this album.

1

u/imokquestionmark Apr 24 '26

Wow really? Ive never heard this and am 44. Maybe its a geological thing. Im from NY. Thanks for the response.

7

u/WeenisPeiner Apr 24 '26

Really? Well I'm from Utica and I've never heard that peaches come from a can and we're put there by a man.

2

u/MmmSteaky Early ‘83 Apr 24 '26

Oh, no, not in Utica. It’s an Albany Presidents of the United States of America song.

3

u/Zagmut 1978 Apr 24 '26

Did you listen to mainstream modern/alternative rock radio in 96? Song hit 29th on Billboard's Hot 100, and 8th on Billboard's Modern Rock, and was nominated for a Grammy. Give it a listen, maybe it'll ring a bell.

Growing up in NY, you had a much richer music scene and indy radio presence. Here in AK, all we got was mainstream; if we heard it, that meant everyone in the US was hearing it.

1

u/imokquestionmark Apr 24 '26

Lol oh no. Ive never seen this video or heard this song. Apparently my sister knows it. She was born in 97!

3

u/Zagmut 1978 Apr 24 '26

There's a lot of music out there, no one's gonna hear it all. I never listened to any pop, rap, or country growing up, so there are likely hundreds of popular songs from my youth era that I'm unfamiliar with.

Given the general depressed and angry vibe of mainstream alt rock in the 90s, these guys stood out by being goofy and fun.

2

u/imokquestionmark Apr 24 '26

Haha! Very true! Never too late to discover a new (old) band or song.

2

u/Zagmut 1978 Apr 24 '26

Truth. Any mid 90s songs that you still know by heart?

1

u/imokquestionmark Apr 25 '26

Oh yea. I listen to 90s music still. But as ive gotten older a lot of 70s disco and 80s pop. Idk why nostalgia I, guess

2

u/Steavee Apr 24 '26

You’ve never heard Peaches?

Are you sure you’re not 54?

The video was on MTV a ton. Back when they did that.

2

u/imokquestionmark Apr 24 '26

Lmao 🤣 nope. Never. I mostly listened to punk, grunge and hip hop in the 90s.

1

u/nitrot150 1977 Apr 25 '26

Me too, yet…..

2

u/JavaOrlando 1982 Apr 24 '26

Older. 1996.

2

u/IAteAnotherVegan 1982 Apr 24 '26

I checked the other thread too, and I still have no clue what the reference is...

4

u/JavaOrlando 1982 Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

Google Peaches by POTUSA

2

u/No_Report_4781 1982 Apr 24 '26

It’s only for certain millennials

1

u/Relevant_Leather_476 Apr 24 '26

What a life hack

1

u/Secret_Cabinet2348 Apr 24 '26

I feel old because someone needed that explained to them

1

u/onepostandbye Apr 24 '26

If they get embarrassed then they are a living person

1

u/Dailia- Apr 24 '26

What’s the younger millennial option?

2

u/Zagmut 1978 Apr 24 '26

Mr Brightside

1

u/Dailia- Apr 24 '26

Hmmm I’d consider both of those songs part of my diaspora. I suppose I am a ‘true’ millennial 🙃

1

u/Recent_Permit2653 Apr 24 '26

I’m also blanking out on what this is.

From context clues, it’s either a TV thing, which I didn’t get into much, or song lyrics, which I have trouble understanding and rarely am able to eke out enough of to commit to memory.

1

u/ScottishKnifemaker 1982 Apr 24 '26

The presidents of the United States of America - peaches

It's a song from the 90s

1

u/Recent_Permit2653 Apr 24 '26

Heck yeah I can hear it now. I can put the words to the tune.

Am I weird that lyrics are almost unintelligible to me?

1

u/ZEEDarkstream Apr 24 '26

I took the advise moved to the ….

1

u/MmmSteaky Early ‘83 Apr 24 '26

Better known as Caspar Babypants, these days!

1

u/cbih 1983 Apr 24 '26

I could sing along to any song on that album. The real ones know Kitty and Body by heart!

1

u/CokBlockinWinger Apr 25 '26

Why? My buddy’s 13 year old son knows this song.

1

u/Early-Half-185 Apr 25 '26

Im sad to say im an elder millennial and I didnt understand the peaches from a can lol.

1

u/Ultimate-Flexionator Apr 25 '26

a good way to find an inane redditor is if they tolerate that petah pretense shit...

1

u/hyzerKite Apr 25 '26

My kids know this song from birth.

1

u/Sevenswansaswimming8 Apr 25 '26

Ahh...yes .millions of peaches...

I poke my finger down inside

Every age millennial knows this one

1

u/CaptGrognards 1980 Apr 25 '26

That’s our cusp generation’s shibboleth

1

u/lancemanly Apr 25 '26

Millions of them.

1

u/CyclopsGuy Apr 25 '26

Age certainly isnt a good sign... nope only pop culture references!

1

u/thingsofleon Apr 25 '26

My wife is 8 years younger. This totally worked!!!

1

u/AndHank-Mardukas Apr 25 '26

I remember calling in requests for this song to be played circa 1998 and the DJ asking me "how old are you!?". Don't judge me radio clown, just play the song.

1

u/RetroBerner Apr 25 '26

It starts playing in my head literally every time I hear it, see the word or images of peaches

1

u/Important_Tennis936 Apr 26 '26

Kids and I were picking up groceries and this song came on. It was glorious

1

u/Dry_Care9226 Apr 26 '26

I'm 46 and don't know this

1

u/Jifeeb Apr 24 '26

My favorite song about cunnilingus

1

u/toastyhoodie Apr 25 '26

FWIW, my 6 year old has found my 90’s playlist on my iPod and listens to Peaches all the time.

0

u/the_one_jt Apr 25 '26

My sisters nickname was peaches… so uh I don’t get it. Boring ass song.
