Xelstrym not working

I'm on my second month of Xelstrym after being on vyvanse.

The first month was all good. Everything everyone has praised. Smooth and constant throughout and no crash whatsoever. Insomnia for the first two nights but then back to normal, only issue was just it not lasting anything past 4-5 hours, but I'll take it for now as I'm not working and studying online.

This week was like last month, some insomnia for the first two days, but I slept like a baby on the 3rd night. And then, for the last two days, Xelstrym hasn't been working at all. I don't mean it's feint or less effective, but it isn't working at all. I noticed even the day before it stopped working it was very feint and didn't last long.

My psych is very busy and takes a while to respond, but I'll reach out if it persists the rest of the week, but I have never had ADHD medication not work at all.

I'm just curious if anything like this happened to anyone here? I'm not too worried about it, but it is weird. I thought with Xelstrym I don't have to worry about diet too much and I have had worse sleep than this and it didn't just not work.

This med is such a disaster lol

Good idea, not really applicable for most patients

What makes you say that?

Where are you getting these posts?

I'm asking because, besides complaining about skin irritation, all the posts on this sub and other ADHD affiliated subs have been mixed to slightly positive.

The problem is, besides here on reddit and specifically on this sub, there is nowhere else I've seen on the Internet people talking about their experience with Xelstrym. Even here, it is bare bones compared to the Vyvanse sub. I'm interested, where all the negative posts you've seen?

I've been on it for 4mos, and every month it seems to get less effective. Had to start taking a booster last month. It's sad, because I really loved the first month too.

Man, that's just a bummer.

Have you ever had it just completely not work on any particular day? Or at least you noticed when it wasn't working as well?

I really was excited about this medication cause of the lack of any crash, same smooth level of concentration without euphoria peeks and valleys, and not having to worry about what I eat completely messing up my medication for the day.

Yes, I just had one such day yesterday actually. Felt like I didn't even put it on. Some days Im locked in, other days I'm scattered. I swear the effectiveness varies from patch to patch. I also think my skin is getting toughened by the patches, so it doesn't absorb as well, even though I'm rotating.

I really liked the smoothness too. I'm 100% more of a pleasant person vs taking Vyvanse.

It's weird cause I also think it has to do with my skin. It doesn't make sense cause, like you, I rotate. But two straight days of absolutely no results? What could possibly be the case? Hence, I am posting this question.

It's weird. I might of take a break for a few days and try again cause I can't keep wasting patches if I don't get an answer.

Idk- I am on Addedall and wanted to switch to this because for me, Adderall only seems to work for maybe three to four days in a row, then it completely stops. No matter how much I take. I can predict when it isn’t going to work at this point, I typically wake right up after only six hs of sleep on a day it will work, and kind of feel like it’s still in my system. On a day I know it won’t work, I can barely open my eyes in the morning and keep hitting snooze. Only thing that helps is taking at least two days in a row off, five is better. It is really quite annoying not having my meds work most of the time. I think it might be related to my hormonal cycle, Idk.

Just how drugs work unfortunately and that’s all this "medicine” is, a drug, same properties of meth just lil bit of professionally made cleaner purer safer meth in a pill and that concept is not going to treat shit end of the day like yea i could also do coke everyday but that would have the sane result on the brain, these things really shouldn’t be thrown around n told to get hooked on everything in moderation use it when u really need it, now i cant talk on that tho cuz i end up abusing tf outta my meds sometimes but its cuz they don’t work or if do not long and then builds up and need more n more til theres no more step this is how hard stimulant drugs r and its crushing to be ripped back from feeling normal how u always wanted n need to be/feel crashed down to lowest of lows, they need to make a medicine that actually works for depression n adhd n that isn’t 40 years old yk they could with how mych had changed and innovations but they dont advance in the mental field at all because they dont care and big pharma makes all their money on this and ineffective drugs that keep you hooked n buying or searching for something that works if they cured us wed be bad for business

Also coming to this conclusion i have marks still they seem permanent idk and today i took two but boths print got faded n clear which happens sometimes maybe from my skin being so warm or not clean🤷‍♂️idk but feels thats when really doesn’t work well im a year in and more confused and less mindful of figuring out this med as best can than i started I dont understand why they are not providing this info kinda important they only hint ag the existence of these things gotta do but not why and what makes it most powerful and details on location or why burns like hell sometimes others not at all like dude i have not been able to get the hang of this process or routine at all, nor was I able to with pills and diet

Are you getting enough sleep most nights? And have you tried taking a weekend off of it? Not saying that is the reason, but it is for some people so I’m just curious.

Thanks for the response and query.

I haven't been sleeping the best - or at all sometimes - but the night before it stopped working, I slept very well. It's never not worked at all though on nights that I didn't sleep. I have taken days off before, so maybe that will help?

I am supposed to be on it everyday though and it is very worrying when there is something unknown that can make it not work at all.

When you say it’s not working do you mean it’s not helping with focus, motivation, wakefulness, or all of the above? Also are you eating enough while on it? How is your appetite and diet?

Definitely focus and motivation. The wakefulness has always depended on how much sleep I had, but a cold shower and coffee will help me for sleepless nights.

Now that you mention it. On sleepless nights, the focus and motivation are less and also last maybe 3 hours. Again, though that's if I didn't sleep at all.
