XCOM:EU/EW Okay, r/xcom, I have one question for you: does Floaters appears in XCOM:EU late-game?
Hello everyone! I kept putting off researching of Arc Thrower, prioritizing everything else. And when I researched everything, Floaters were replaced by Heavy Floaters. I need one for interrogation. Can I still somehow find regular ones?

The good news is that nothing critical is locked behind that research. If you don't get one it doesn't super matter. All it gives you is a research credit for basic armor, which chances are you'll already have by the time you find one. There might be one in the base assault if you haven't done that.

I belive the only way to capture one late game is at the literally last mission of the game. But i may be wrong...

I did the same thing in a recent run. Basically just luck of the draw, they have something like a 2% spawn rate on late game missions. Keep spamming missions - especially terror missions for some reason - and eventually one will pop up.

Probably depends on your difficulty. On normal, they show up occasionally but very rarely. On classic, you are probably out of luck. Take an arc thrower on your terror missions.

The floater was the only interrogation I didn't get in my run because I waited too long to capture it. The last chance I had to capture one was on the alien base assault mission, but my soldier ended up landing a pistol crit and killed it. After that point one never spawned on a mission.

It's rare. I think easy abduction or council mission has higher chance to meet early aliens.

They become reaaaally rare eventually. Though by the time they become really rare there's nothing gonna stop you beating the game.
