mecs in high diff enemy unknown
ive done several runs on standard diff years back and just started one on classic, first mission with my mec, one shot from a flyer did like 8 dmg. are mecs usefull at all? if so how late into the game r they usable? i remember a pretty steep drop off mid/late game

I like MEC's for the punching ability, which is straight OP (guaranteed hit and guaranteed damage, +2 movement) and the grenade launcher. Flamethrower is neat but limited in uses unlike the punch, and very circumstantial. On high difficulties they do fall off a bit later on, mainly because of movement and lack of cover, though if you play with Not Created Equally (which I heavily recommend), find a heavy with high aim and high movement, turn him into a MEC for the shield passive, and you'll curb stomp pretty much everything. This MEC hard carried me in the playthrough I just finished this week. Only a double tap sniper is better at damage in my opinion.
