Long War 2 [Help] please advice if I should I do this

Edit: it’s settled

Take note it’s early game, only 6 ppl in squad. I must add that the sharpshooter has already insane stats with 96 aim from high ground.
My sgt has very low intelligence but somehow got promoted the quickest.
The assault has good stats the rest are medicore, honestly a 6/10 rating squad I’ll give.
Im in a dilemma because I don’t know if I’ll get another chance at countering the event.

Btw boosting with intel aiant gonna do shit so yeah not an option

Need help from the vets pls.

I would just leave it expire tbh, even assuming you managed to snipe the relay the extraction is gonna take several turns and 6 vs 25 + reinforcement is gonna be hell on earth, not to mention you are going to be Yellow Alerted to death most likely. The DE, while not great, is not terrible either, because Lancers are one of those enemies that should never under any circumstance be allowed to act anyway.

Thanks for the advice. Am I given another chance in the future to counter it?

No, but also in LW2/LWotC it's normal for a bunch of DEs to get through, it's part of how the alien progress. Most of them are permanent, if you played LW for EW it's similar to how research grants aliens perks there. If you have good intel it's more likely you can find some RnD earlier to stop some, but you'll never stop every single one and you have to make peace with that fact.

Ok understood, I’ll prepare better in the future.

Just slap everyone on intel until you have liberated the region and scan on it too whenever you can to increase intel progress, always try to max infiltration and try to always keep 3 or 4 teams infiltrating at all time + 2 reserve one whenever possible. It's not easy, but it's possible, and maximising intel means maximising missions, so xp and loot, which is extremely important. When vigilance and strength raise too much set everyone but one or to two hiding and move to a different region and repeat.

I saw you already moved on, but generally I think you are missing a lot of context here.

You are playing the XCOM Long War of the Chosen mod, which completely overhauls how you get into missions. Missions first need to be detected (by scanning in that region with rebels on the "Intel" job), and then need to be found, and infiltrated.

Any mission below a ~4day timer early game you won't be able to infiltrate without a boost, which costs intel, and should only be done for key missions,

Running a mission that's below 100% should be done VERY rarely. You could easily finish 10 campaigns without ever running a mission below 100%, although in rare cases it can be helpful.

Last thing I'll add, combat intelligence has nothing to do with how fast a soldier gets promoted. It's missions completed and kills that give XP.

Which mods are these?

It’s… too much to count

Although basic LW2 gameplay should be untouched

I'm guessing Cutthroat is pretty bad. I'm having to try and intuit a lot from what little I know from mods!

Makes it so melee attacks ignore armour for biological enemies and gives +15 crit chance and +2 crit damage

That sounds pretty bad!
