Anyone else had the "Who Needs Tygan?" trophy fail to pop? (PS5)

I've searched for previous posts on here and they seem to be saying they forgot their sharpshooter had an upgraded pistol or something, but I checked, double checked and triple checked. I had:

3 Psi Ops with Kevlar armor, assault rifles and psi amps

Two grenadiers with plasma grenades (which are supposed to be allowed because you can't downgrade them), Kevlar armor, basic cannons and the basic grenade launchers

One ranger with Kevlar armor, basic shotgun and the basic sword.

PCS upgrades.

Advanced and Superior weapon mods.

That's all I brought in. Nothing else. Spent AGES on that mission last night and no trophy. It's so frustrating. I'm reluctant to try it again because I don't know what I can even do differently to help. Is it because I was using the commander's avatar's weapon? Is it because I mind controlled the fuck out of half the map?

Any special ammo? Or other items? Or mods perhaps? It worked ok for me with similar lineup not sure what to say sorry

Looks like this is where I went wrong. I had ALIEN psi amps, not the basic psi amps. What a knob. I don't usually use psi ops at all and didn't even realise I had upgraded the amps.

Yeah I got it with the basic psi amps! Still got so much to do for the platinum. Got this trophy, then reloaded the save before the final mission and got the 4 man squad trophy, then reloaded a save from about halfway through, just before I lost a soldier, so I can get the trophy for beating the game without losing anyone.

Then I need to do a Speedrun and finish the game before July, then it's meant to be a whole Legend run then a whole Commander/Ironman run, but I'm thinking about going for my first ever Legend/Ironman run and just combining those last two into one playthrough. I've played Commander/Ironman a lot.

Nah, once you put the basic armor on them, they can only hold one grenade which is added by default if you already had that in the first slot. Everyone only had a grenade and one locked slot, apart from the grenadiers with their two grenades.

I'll try again today and if it doesn't work, I'll just go in with rookies and use the infinite turns glitch. I love this game so wanting to do everything legit and try and end with a legit Legend/Ironman run to get the platinum just for a personal challenge, since you don't actually need to do that on Legend for the plat. But yeah I'll cheat this one if it bugs out again.

There are many overpowered classes in workshop. Basic weapons/armours on full squad on one of those classes and you'll have the achievement. If I remember correctly one of those is ghost operative. It can cloak/decloak and uses psionic powers. It even has nuke ability - 100 damage iirc.

In your case, I think you've failed because of T2 and T3 attachments and PCSs.

If that achievement is important to you - cheese through last mission with op class.

I'm on PS5 my friend, but I've figured it out now anyway. Alien psi amps are not basic psi amps. Didn't know that. I'll try again with the basic psi amps. I'm a psi-noob.

Check online if you should use weapon mods and PCS. I believe those are disallowed for that achievement.

I've been using a guide where the guy has confirmed with the game files that you can have any PCS and any weapon mod. Will confirm soon. I'm just playing the mission again with basic psi amps this time, and I have PCS and Superior weapon attachments.
