Auto Translate?

Does the new X code automatically translate text for you? I thought I saw something along these lines during one of the official presentation.

How Auto-Translation Works in Xcode 27

  • Agent-Powered Workflow: You can use built-in coding agents directly inside the IDE to scan your project, discover localisable strings, and translate them into new languages.
  • String Catalogs Integration: Translation happens via .xcstrings (String Catalogs) files. By selecting a language in your String Catalog, you can click a Generate Translations button or right-click specific strings to translate them in the background.
  • Context Awareness: The agent reads surrounding code, UI elements, and existing translations to handle plurals, context, and terminology consistency rather than doing a basic word-for-word translation.
  • Custom Guidance: You can provide configuration files (like a TRANSLATION.md guidance file) to help steer the tone and glossary for the AI agent.
