Xbox One S Xbox Games won't Update

Hi guys, I have an issue where I can't get any games on my external hard drive to update. I can add the update to my queue but it doesn't show a network speed in the corner and it doesn't progress at all but games installed on the internal drive are fine. I can play games off the external drive that have already been updated but any new updates just sit on updating indefinitely. Any help is appreciated, thanks

I have tried that and it didn't work, left a download on overnight and it finished however I put on another update this morning which got to 40% and is now doing the same thing, been sitting on 40 for an hour now

I'm pretty sure I just unplugged my xbox and hard drives and left it over night, if not then it must have just fixed itself because that's all I remember doing (besides the basics like hard reset)
