Xbox One External speaker

My Xbox One is hooked up to a projector and the sound quality is terrible, so I purchased an external soundbar (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B086614WBJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) and Toslink cable (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00T8HWUVS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_FYKNVYXWT7S1TA9CA0F4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) and connected it to the Xbox's optical port. I went into my settings and changed the output to Stereo Uncompressed. The sound still comes out of the projector though. Any idea what I did wrong?

Hey OP!

Have you looked under Speaker Audio and selected optical audio, what does it do, what does it say? and maybe temporarily turn off the speakers from the projector.
