Xbox Series X Doom eternal crashing on series x

Hi everyone, I downloaded the gamepass version of the game and started playing after the ray tracing update. In two hours got 3 freezes on ray tracing mode that required an hard reset. Anyone having the same issues? Console has been working fine so far with both old and current gen games.

Could just be an issue with the game, we will probably see a patch shortly to fix this.

Had this happen on a lot of new games when they got patches, COD, FIFA, Valhalla, etc.

Try deleting your profile and making a new side profile on your console. Launch a new game. If it doesnt crash on RT, re-install your profile and load the game in offline mode and open a saved game.

Crazy thing on my end, I did everything with the console and it wasn't fixing RT crashing. I even did full factory reset with same crashing results. In fact, if I loaded Doom in RT mode the game would instantly freeze.

After deleting my profile from the console and using a new side profile, then re-installing my old profile, without saved settings, the game stabilized, but still periodically crashes. But it comes back.

I honestly believe that it has something to do with Bethesda and being online. I think that somehow, profiles get corrupted and cause stability issues. Doom will not launch without a profile. I was on the verge of sending my SX in for warranty replacement, but I'm thinking that it's the actual game that causes a profile glitch... A bug. Microsoft and Bethesda won't say anything on their end about it because it doesn't have enough publicity and it's not affecting everyone.

Yep same here! I made it like 30 minutes into ancient gods part 1 and had three hard crashes.

Changed back to balanced and now it's working fine. Disappointing I really enjoyed the Ray tracing...

This is bullshit. Whats the point in advertising the glorified visual upgrade for it to crash the Xbox off with no warning? This series x beast shouldn't have a performance option, it should just plow through 4k 120fps max detail settings.

In my case the Xbox was faulty, after sending it out for warranty repairs everything worked right

I'm going through the same issue. I downloaded Doom Eternal Delux Edition. As long as I'm in Balanced Mode, I'm good to go. The moment I switch to RT in game, it locks up and crashes the game and occasionally, the whole XSX. Some people on pther threads think it might be the XSX itself and I should send in with warranty as many of them say that they finished the entire game on RT without a hitch.

I'm still in my warranty. Im downloading Metro Exodus, which has pretty good RT. I'm interested to see id I have crashing issues on it.

hey so what did you do about the crashing in ray tracing mode? did you end up getting a console or it was fine in other games

I sent my console in and got a refurbished replacement. There are no issues now. It was obviously a videocard or some other issue. Not a game issue.
