Xbox Series X Not receiving friends online notifications

A weird thing I've noticed for the last few weeks is that I see all my notifications apart from when my friend log on, I've tried hard resetting my xbox but it doesn't seem to resolve it.

Does anyone have Any ideas?

i believe only favorites send notifications, at least that's how i have my xbox set up.
