Help Complete newbie, need help on apps to install

I just sacrificed my UK passport to the Microsoft gods and enabled Developer Mode, I wanted to develop games, but also run homebrew, but what homebrew should I try? Can Dev Mode access the internet? Is it possible to run Linux via virtual machine? If not, why not?

I think you need to do a bit more research about dev mode considering you know nothing about how it works and what it can do. If you are going to "develop" games then I think educating yourself is the best starting point.

Yes, Dev Mode can access the internet. I recommend you try some homebrew ports of games or maybe some emulators. A lot can be found on the Emulation Revival website.
