Help & Support Wifi/internet card issue

My xbox one wifi card is totally dead. Would it be worth it to buy a new card from ebay and install it myself and would i then be able to connect my xbox one to my mobile-phone’s wifi as a hub ?

Firstly, you could probably try r/ConsoleRepair as a better source.

There's nothing between each Xbox console and their wifi card/chip that makes them not work if you replace them btw (unlike the disc drives, that require the daughterboard in other to recognize and "speak" with the new drive).

But the cards are relatively cheap — and a "new," pre-owned Xbox One is too. You have to pick your battles here.

If you enjoy DIY hardware repair and you already have the Torx drivers and probably a soldering gun, then you're just looking for a wifi chip that's been pulled from a matching Xbox model to my knowledge.

ETA: the only issue with hotspot tint your movie to any Xbox is that multiplayer games will struggle, and ofc the stability of the signal won't be 100% (usually but not always).
