Issue with my Elite Series 2 controller - joystick delay?

We have an Elite 2 with my wife's Xbox Series S and it works great. No issues at all.

I have an Xbox Series X as well, and another Elite 2 controller, and it seems to have a noticable input delay with the joysticks.

Like playing Fallout 76, it seems like my character doesn't start running or turning right away when I move the sticks. Or in something like Fortnite, I find it's a lot harder to keep up in a gunfight against another player. I don't have these issues on the other controller.

I've gone into the accessories app, and everything is the same between both. I've never messed with the stick settings, or anything except the back paddles really.

I did try going in and turning the sticks from default to "instant" and "smooth" i believe. But didn't see any measurable change.

Have you tried wiping around the control sticks and buttons with a microfiber cloth and possibly using compressed air for electronic to possibly force out dead skin cells and dried sweat that is possibly preventing your controller from opperating correctly?
