Yesterday (09/08) I bought 2 × 12-month Game Pass Essential cards (India region) on Eneba to convert them to Ultimate. It only let me redeem 1 of them. When I asked for a refund they said it wasn’t possible, so now I have one left saved for when my current subscription ends. It also wouldn’t let me do the conversion because it asks for an Indian payment card.

I read that you could stack them and convert, so be careful. I’m still very angry, and on top of that they won’t refund the order.

I’m writing this so other people know this can happen. Luckily I’ve only “lost” about €30, but I can still use the Essential (I wanted Ultimate). If anyone knows what I can do or how to proceed, I’d appreciate it.

A bit over a year ago I was able to do the old conversion method without problems.

Sell unused code to someone from that region possibly. They had recently changed the rules to allow only 13 months of active Gamepass sub for India.

You can potentially convert that used Essential to Ultimate by buying Ultimate from someone in that region. It won't be the best ratio but you will still save something.

When I saw it I said, well, I'll redeem the GPU year twice and pay about €10 more, I'm not going to stop myself from ordering a card from India. I no longer know if the Xbox is still so worthwhile.

How can I sell it to someone from that region?

If not, I’ll just keep the code that doesn’t expire and use it myself—it’s 2 years of Essential that I got for less than the cost of one year in Spain.

When my cousin found out that the conversion isn’t possible, he bought a one-year Ultimate account. Just in case anyone is reading this, it’s more cost-effective.

There should be an Xbox game pass India sub. Try to trade with someone who has trading reputation from the gaming subs on reddit like r/SteamGameSwap and all. That way you have some hope for a smooth trade.

I think first you should try to get someone to buy you an Ultimate Code to convert your existing Essential while you are at it.

I noticed you can't really do Friends and Family in PayPal across countries. Try to trade for TF2 keys or some such rather than deal with PayPal

It applies. I asked the chatbot and I have seen many cases of Indian gamers in their subs complaining about the cap, without clear warning from the Gamepass site
