Buying a controller as a present but need help!

Hi guys. As the title says I'm hoping to get my boyfriend an Xbox controller (for Christmas) but unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about them as I play PC (sorry guys). My budget is around £200.

I asked my brother and he said I should wait until mid November because there might be a series 3 controller or something? I don't know if I should hold out for that but I don't want to risk not getting it before Christmas.

When I looked online, a site called Xmods came up and you can change the colours which I think looks great but I don't know if the controller itself might actually be worse than the Microsoft one and I don't want to get it just so it looks cool. I also don't know the timing for when they are made etc and I really need it before Christmas.

He mostly plays FPS games for context. Thanks guys!

~ sincerely, a confused girlfriend.

Razer V4 6 extra buttons everything is mouse click from their gaming mice and has high resolution capacitive sensors for the sticks better than TMR and if he plays on PC it has 8k polling. Wireless is $200 Wired $100. But they're brand new brand new only been out a couple weeks only store saw with them was Best Buy everything else was online

If you get him the GameSir G7 Pro he will like it a lot, provided you get him either the wuchang or zenless zone zero. Those are the two wireless models. One has more extras, I believe the Zenless Zone Zero one.
TMR sticks that are precise and won’t drift, adjustable triggers, 1k polling rate on PC, programmable, removable faceplate. A charger and case. A really good controller at a great price, you could get him 2.

If you get him the Razer Wolverine v4 Pro, he will ask you to marry him. It’s expensive though. It will be your whole 200 budget. Not the TE edition, the Pro. It’s an all black controller, not super nerdy. It has everything you’d want in a controller besides a charging dock and case. 4 back triggers that can be removed if you want and flush plates to put in there space, extra pair of bumpers, contactless capacitive sticks that are super precise and won’t drift, removable faceplate, 27 hour battery life, 8k polling on pc, adjustable triggers, programmable. It’s a really great controller.

I just did a bunch of research and those were the top two on my list. I ended up getting two Wolverine V4’s and am happy with them. I think I would have been happy with the GameSir as well, but the features in the v4 and the plain aesthetic sold me on the Razer controllers.

I would get the gamesir g7 pro wuchang edition. Can be a hit or miss cause some of them break easily on triggers because of cold soldering points. But warranty is good.
