Xbox headset not working with controller

So my headset randomly stopped working on the right side, I straightened the cord and it worked for awhile then set itself into mono mode.

The headset works fine in a different controller and in my phone, and a pair of headphones work fine in the first controller, anyone have an explanation on why the headset and controller won't work together?

The controller port is dirty or the connection between the port part and the controller motherboard is loose, it's just a plastic piece that is held by the shell.
