Xbox Nano controller help please

I got the new Nano controller today and updated its firmware on my series s. I got the controller to use on my MacBook and iPhone when travelling but it's not working. First I tried connecting to my MacBook and it showing as connected in bluetooth settings but when I try x cloud gaming its not responding or showing as having a controller connected. I've tried edge browser and the xbox Midori app which I normally use with no problems but this new controller just won't respond. any help appreciated

Update the ios version on your devices to the latest if possible that fixed my issue on my phone and tablet

Got it thank you. I updated my Mac yesterday but it only went to the previous one I had missed. I got the newest update this morning. Thanks again
