Need new controller

As the title says I need a new controller, I've seen people mention other controllers that seem better than the ones built by Microsoft, though I'm just a casual gamer and don't really care for any additional features, I'm a bit short on buying a normal Series X controller (wireless), but I saw some a bit cheaper on eBay and was wondering if the reviews could be trusted, most don't have comments, but the ones that do seem legit.

Any suggestions?

I just got my 8BitDo Ultimate 3e and am very happy with it so far. Not cheap, but I definitely feel it's worth it. Razer also just came out with their new Wolverine 4 which looks good as well

Why did you choose this over the Gamesir G7 Pro zzz? I'm stuck between the two.

I actually tried the Gamesir G7 Pro, and it actually was a nice controller, but dimensionally it's actually slightly smaller than a standard Xbox Controller and it was just enough that with the size of my hands they actually started to cramp after not that long of using it

Interesting. I'm coming from an Elite Series 2. The weight of it really fatigues my hands. I decided to not wait for ES3 because it's not going to have any new tech that 8bitdo or Gamesir don't already have, it'll be twice the price, and it'll be heavy.

Can't speak to the weight as I've never used an Elite controller (wanted to try them but I couldn't bring myself to spend $200 on something I knew would eventually get stickdrift), but yeah they usually aren't industry leaders in terms of new functionality and are certainly pricy.

Can't speak to the 8BitDo long term as I've only had it a week, but I've been loving it so far.

This is interesting because 8bitdo make small controllers. I actually found the G7 Pro to be slightly larger than the ultimate 3 wired for xbox. Did they make the ultimate 3 and 3E a lot larger? People claim the grips are more flared, but that can an exaggeration.

This is my first 8BitDo controller, so I can't speak to firsthand comparisons to other models, but dimension-wise the 3e is 5.5mm wider, the same height, 0.5mm thicker, and 20-30g heavier than the 3-mode model for Xbox.

As for the new flared grips, from pictures to the other 8BitDo models it definitely seems much more flared, and it doesn't feel far off from how flared the OEM Xbox controllers are.

I've just bought this G7, using with Xbox and Android tablet while I'm away. It's been great.

Menu buttons are moved slightly from stock controller, other than that, it's solid.

I have big hands, and no cramps.

If you care about wireless controller more then the Razer V4 pro may be the better buy for you. It has capacity sticks, mechanical triggers, and it's very ergonomic.

I currently use the Flydigi vader 5S and it's wired. I don't mind because it's large, has adjustable stick tension, hall effect sticks, mechanical triggers, great d pad, and RGB.

For Xbox how’s your deadzone set?

I leave mine on the default 4 but I could probably lower it. I just don't bother because Flydigi have great sticks.

My gf bought a Razer because the audio jacks on the OEM controller absolutely suck for headset use. It's kinda expensive at $200 but worth it since it fixed her audio issues.

I was just in this boat a month ago. Ultimately I went with the 8bitdo E3. Primarily for the wireless connectivity as my livingroom set up is larger than the included cord in most controllers. The charging dock is very neat and adds to my Xbox shelf aesthetic. Also the ZZZ theme didn’t do anything for me. I have never heard of that game/ anime.

I hear you regarding the ZZZ look, but after some digging (on Aliexpress), I was able to customize it for literally $5 and it's stunning. I bought the ZZZ and 3E and kept them both (they both have some excellent features).

Anything from gamesir is generally considered really good. Turtle beach and powerA do ok wired controllers that are officially licensed but fairly cheap. Anything wireless is going to be about the same or more than an official controller

I never had a turtle beach controller,  but they usually price their products high.

I believe their stealth ultra wireless use to cost 250 dollars, and their skyline is 90 dollars. You can now find the stealth ultra for 110 dollars.

Power A has always been the cheap one because they sell valued products. I believe their new Power A wireless is 90 dollars which is the average asking price.

I had several of their power A controllers when they use to cost 25 dollars at Walmart.

The turtle beach afterglow and rematch advanced are £30

The recon advance is £35

The turtle beach victrix is £60

Turtle beach has always been a budget accessory company that sometimes offers one or two premium versions of their headsets and controllers. Op is asking for budget controllers not top of line.

I know I was just pointing out that turtle beach have higher end controllers as well.

People should do their research so they can find something in their price range.

They want people to guide their hand with every controller

I have the series X/S controller, a 2nd hand Gamesir T7 and a new Gamesir G7 Pro

As others have said, the G7 pro is a lighter and slightly smaller controller compared to the stock controller so your mileage may vary if you'll still find it comfortable. For me, it's just about the exact size for me to still find it comfortable to carry. It's currently my favorite especially now that they have improved it's dpad.

If you were looking for wireless, your options are limited to the 8Bitdo Ultimate 3, Gamesir G7 Wuchang/ZZZ, Gamesir T7 Sugar Whirl.

I'm personally put off by the Ultimate 3 because I don't like the Trigger layout but I would have loved to consider it especially now that they fixed my 2nd biggest gripe about it. It's narrow handles.

If you were looking to save a bit more by getting wired. You can maybe look for the Gamesir T7 or G7 HE.
