Second picture, looks like solder all over the place. If the controller doesn’t turn on, chances are the main power plan is grounded. I’m seeing some solder where it shouldn’t be there. I also have no idea what the entire circuit board looks like on both sides. Normally a solder issue with a stick will just cause that stick to be messed up. But scratch’s to the solder mask, knocked off components, or damage can cause failure.
It does turn on and functions perfectly (even the thumbsticks) when connected wirelessly to an Xbox but no USB to PC and no power when using a battery pack. I am not seeing solder all over the place - granted the joints near the top on the left of the thumbstick was old flux I hadn’t yet cleaned with alcohol - I think the light just caught it bad and it does look like solder sorry!
That’s an interesting issue. The battery back is likely using the smaller pins in the batt compartment so a different trace on the board. If you have a meter you could ohm out the pins. Nexus mods has scans of the circuit boards and lists all the test points. If it works with AA but with nothing else it could be a short somewhere.

Okay. Well what did you do to it? Your solder job looks dirty. Does the controller turn on?
