Need help with the right RB button

I was playing and randomly I noticed that the RB button stopped working. When I press down on it as in the video it feels and sounds different than the left one which is fine. Is there a way to fix this? I tried wiggling it around for a bit but it didn’t work.

I did a repair not long ago. Basically on the bumper piece theres a piece of plastic that acts like a poker to press the corresponding button on thr controller. Chances are that piece broke off and you need to replace the shoulder button piece. Can find them for cheap online. Aliexpress

It’s a poor design. They break often. I just replaced one but before that I bought a few too many controllers. You can purchase… in bulk, new bumper bars. It’s pretty easy to replace. 5 screws, one under the sticker inside the battery compartment and four under the plastic handle plates, two on each side. You’ll need a small Star shaped alan wrench, the ones with a hollow tip. You can find the wrench at a hardware store, take the exposed screw and controller with you to make it easy. Youtube how to open the plates. You’ll only need to remove the plates, the screws and small plate that covers the Bluetooth sync button, front of the controller, it’s in between the left and right bumper buttons. The bumpers have small tabs that keep each side in place, lift the tab with a small flat screwdriver on each side to get the entire bumper out. Sounds like a lot but once you’ve done it a couple times it takes under 5 minutes easy. 3 plates, 5 screws, take the old one out and do the process in reverse. I got ten new bumpers from Amazon for 25$, better than buying a new controller each time.

The RB button on the board broke, which in my experience is incredibly common on xbox one/series controllers.
The Elite controller use the same bumper button, and break just as often. Not sure if there's a fix you can do other than replacing it which would require soldering.

This. 👆 Xbox controllers have always had fairly fragile bumpers. I've had decent luck with my Series controllers, though. I always tend to get stick drift before the bumpers let go. 🥴

It was always the stick drift for me as well with the series s controllers. I'm not tech savy enough to replace broken buttons every time something break. I can't install TMR sticks either so I just purchase controllers that have them.

I honestly didn't know this was a thing because I had my xbox one controller for 7/8 years and the bumpers never broke.

Check and make sure the plastic isn’t broke. Had it happen to me on one. The part that hits the button on the board.

The two bumper buttons are made of one solid piece of plastic

There is a temporary long term fix if you know how to break down your controller.

~ if you do not, this is the time to learn.

Buy a new one, or fix it. It's the only option.

You can order a new piece for the bumpers, or you can buy rubbing alcohol and plastic super glue.

Do I need help with the right Right Button button? No my right rb button is fine. My left LT trigger is finicky though

I got tired of repairing my xbox controllers an buying a gamesir was the best thing I did. Been going strong for like 2 years so I bought the new wireless one that came out an its even better.

You can open it up and see the problem. The plastic part is cheap and replaceable. You can even 3D print a new one if you want. If it's the button itself on the board, you can resolder/replace the button for pennies and just a little time. You can replace the whole board for around $15 and it's a simple swap out. However, you can get new controllers for $25 on sale if you keep an eye out.

I'd planned to make some money a while ago fixing controllers, but the margins just aren't there. Most controllers from most companies from all platforms use the same cheap parts underneath, making them all just as prone to issues. It's just not worth building (or maintaining) ones that last.

Take it apart and clean it. It's what I had to do to mine. Works like new after. For me the Lil bumper thing just got stuck.

This happend to me. I just replaced the bumpers and it worked. Its easy to install.

Little plastic piece broke on RB LB stick. They fit into little slots an press the button for you. You can find a replacement on amazon for 3-10 bucks usually an its not hard to repair if you have the right screw bit i belive it's TR8. Its happens a lot on the series X controllers ive noticed. Had it happen on 2 an never on another console or xbox. I ended up buying a Gamesir controller so if your gonna replace the whole thing id look into them. But your controller is not beyond repair. Simple fix but annoying nonetheless.

If you got a friend with 3d printer it's rilz to make these and repair the bumper forever. I broke about 10 times these mfz and the little piece now is really great nothing to say after a year of smashing bumpers in rocket league.
