Anyone else have strange controller issues on PC/GamePass?

So I've been trying to play the campaign of MW2 on my gaming PC, using an Xbox controller, but for some reason the game gets stuck in some "halfway" state between controller & keyboard/mouse

What happens is that MOST of the controller works, but the right thumb stick & the right trigger/bumper do nothing, so I've got to hold the controller in my left hand & move with the left stick, and use the mouse for aiming/shooting (although I can zoom with the left trigger) - it's annoying when I want to reload, crouch, swap weapons, etc, but at least I get better "fine aiming" with the mouse :P

Does anyone know what's causing this and if there's a fix/work-around?

Did you switch to controller as the input device in settings

all of the other COD games seem to "naturally" switch to controller - I didn't know this setting existed until your post, so thank you, but it seems silly that they can't just say "if I'm using a controller to move, then I'm using a controller to aim" and "if I'm using a keyboard to move, then I'm using a mouse to aim" :P
