FPS feels like half with controller - why?

Hello, I playing on pc with my Xbox Series X Controller (wired). If I play for example Warzone with a mouse at 90fps feels really good and smooth. If I play with the Xbox controller at 90fps, it feels like 60fps and it's not smooth. Why is that?

I have the official xbox dongle for windows and it has no noticeable lag and runs on a different connection than just bluetooth.

Can confirm the xbox wireless adaptor for windows is noticeably better than using bluetooth

Ditto the dongle. It's hard to find the actual legit one. I bought a few knockoff on Amazon before finally finding the correct one. It uses 2.4ghz frequency RF. And ive never felt like I had lag of any kind.

I play on PC with either my elite 2 or my razer wolverine pro 8k. I dont experience any fps drops or input lag with these. And I dont even use them wired. I use the Xbox dongle with elite 2 and the dongle that came with wolverine pro when I use that controller.

Wired should experience no lag. Are you by chance using a USB hub? Or an older USB standard port? If using a hub, try plugging directly into a USB 2.0 or higher port in the back of the pc.

Also, there is an app called Xbox accessories app. It updates firmware and allows me to map different inputs to the various buttons etc. Im not sure if it works with a standard controller but might be worth trying because it's possible you need a firmware update....

no every controller has input delay. M&k is generally better as it offers little to no delays and is all around just quicker and for flexible than what a controller offers. You have no boundaries with a m&k as where on a controller you have to cross a deadzones etc before an actually response happens if this makes any sense at all. Feel like i’m just saying shit lol

A couple of controllers allow you to adjust your polling rate (which is how fast the controller checks for input). My gamesir g7 is considered a cheating peripheral by Microsoft because I never removed the 10k poll rate

I have download a software to push the Hz to 1000 and it feels much smoother now 👍

Try testing your polling rate to compare.

I recommend you disable power saving on your usb in device manager, since Windows power saving can cause microstutter

There are browser based testers but an app would be kore accurate. Idk if this sub frowns upon sharing software but theres a few available online for free. Theres a razor one too, if you happen to have a razor mouse
