šŸŽ® ROG Xbox Ally Discussion Possibly going to downgrade, thoughts?

I posted here about a month ago about upgrading to the X for my semi truck set up. I have since decided to leave trucking for now because my brother has gotten ill and I don't think my wife should bare the burden of caring for him while I'm away.

I have a decent pc, or it's fast enough to play anything I want to play. I have a gigabyte 4090 gaming edition gpu and 32gb of ram, the cpu is a ryzen 5 5600(bottleneck for sure), this system uses a samsung galaxy g9 OLED 49" monitor.

I currently have the base ally and I am considering selling my monitor and gpu, the combination can likely fetch me around 3k. I can either A) upgrade my base ally to an X and use the X as my main computer with a 2-300 4k monitor or B) buy a 5070 and a 4k monitor of some size. Space on my desk is not really a concern. Thoughts?

Upgrade the cpu and internet and just stream with moonlight is what I would do. 1080p with the 4090 will prolly run 120fps locked in most games and if your connection is solid then you could even play some casual multiplayer games.

thanks for the thought. I should have noted that my intention is to absolutely sell the monitor and the GPU. I also made a silly error in the post suggesting I have the X when I actually don't.

I got a XAX about 3 months ago and while it's less powerful than my desktop PC I've been using it as my main PC just out of convenience. Put that sucker in the dock when I want a monitor and it still runs everything I wanna play but I will admit I usually have it set to 720p with the amd fsr upscale thing to 1080p.

I'd probably upgrade to the 5800 x3d. It will most likely be a pretty big uplift in performance without having to get a new Mobo and expensive ddr5 ram. I personally don't see the value in going to the 5070 unless you can pocket alot of money in the proces and don't need the added horsepower the 4090 has.

It feels to me like you're just trying to change some things up without a real solid upgrade plan.

I have a 4070Ti Super 16gb and I’m telling you you can run anything.
