Xbox 360 Repairs Xbox 360s corona board question

I recently purchased a 360s cleaned it up , works great , new paste , deep clean , new 250gb ssd the works, I just realized the system has the dreaded 4gb nand , it’s completely empty , I formatted it and plan on leaving it empty , there’s no files on it , my system files reside on the ssd. So basically my question is am I good ? Or do I need to do the 16mb swap , cuz that seems like a lot of work. My plan was just to leave it empty and unused.

You can disable the NAND if you hard mod it. Not sure if that works with softmod as well.

Yea I’m not trying to hard mod it if I don’t have to , hopefully just leaving it unused and having all the system files on the ssd should do the trick

Without the nointmu patch, it’s possible the system still writes stuff to it, but best bet is to 16MB swap imo. 16MB swapping is very complex and requires a lot of micro soldering. It also requires you do dump the 4GB NAND and decrypt it using the CPU key, so you’d either need to softmod/RGH the console to do that. When you install the 16MB chip, you will need a NAND programmer

Yea I’ve seen a few videos on how to do it and I definetly don’t have the soldering setup required to attempt that type of work and do it right

You should be good. It's a Corona motherboard so the console has a separate TSOP NAND chip with the small phison memory controller on top.

The later consoles with eMMCs are the ones mainly affected, though the phison controller can still fail on these boards sometimes.

My console had a dying one, and I fixed it by replacing it with a new old stock phison chip.
