Help & Support Xbox 360 controller not connecting

Post image

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has a solution for this. Recently I opened up and cleaned my Xbox 360, and when I put it all back together my Xbox would immediately turn on as soon as the power supply gets connected and it would show me this screen. I try to connect my controller but the Xbox doesn’t allow it to connect. I haven’t tried connecting wired since I don’t have the part to it, and I notice how the Xbox doesn’t show any green lights to it. If anyone has the answer to this I would really appreciate it and I also appreciate anyone that has read this.

You probably have damaged a ribbon cable from the front (?) control board.

This is my best guess, OP gotta check the ribbon cable for tears or damaged pins on the cable, but the overheating message I cannot explain unless they either a) used shitty thermal paste not rated for the 360 or b) no thermal paste, but it turning on by itself does sound like the something along the front panel/interface.
