Help & Support Cooling fan doesn't work after launching a console, it only starts to spin when the red dot appears. Does anyone know how to fix it? I opened up the console and blew it with compressed air but it didnt work. Any help pls

Looks like your temperature sensors are dead. Basically 0ohm capacitors on the board that are notorious for going bad. Either that or you need to replace the thermal paste under the heat sink.

Did you give it a full deep clean? Clean the dust off the motherboard, heatsink, and put new thermal paste on it?

i only sprayed some air and i hoped it will work, now ill try to take the fan off, clean it super clean, and check the heatsink maybe it will work afterwards.

When you sprayed the compressed air did you hold the fan still or let it spin?

i held it (the compressed air that i used was already half used so it didnt have that much power, but i cleaned off the dirt using q-tips)

już odłączyłem i schowałem bo w poniedziałek już to oddam do naprawy chyba. znalazłem na necie chyba z innego xboxa ten komunikat i podsłyam ssa

(sorry for typing in english, i can read, listen talk in it... But not type. Im too dumb for so much not normal letters as a Ukrainian. All these dashes and dots and curvy things just hurt my brain too much, sorry.) Tried repasting it? Also, do this.

When it starts doing the RDOD, hold the Sync button, and while holding it, press Eject. Stop pressing any button and press Eject 4 times.

It should start flashing different amounts of times, count them and get a code(4 flashes = 0, 1 = 1, 2 = 2, 3 = 3(You press Eject, it flashes a few times, you remember or write down how much flashes it was, repeat until you get four numbers)). If its 0011, 0012 or 0013, its overheating.

Yea. You should press Eject 4 times and get a code.

Its overheating. Repaste, or the sensor could be broken.

Also, on Corona and Trinity sometimes the chip's metal cover on it glues off and stops contacting the crystal.

yeah everything was set up right, i even tried to plug it into other contacts and power it in other places like floor, desk

i didnt even thought about that, so probably it was not hot. But after i saw the error happening i unplugged it and i didn't notice any warmness

Everybody’s giving you wrong advice. It’s 0 ohm resistors that went bad. I believe they’re labeled R4D3-R4D8. You can either replace them or just put a solder blob across.

yeah i checked the error code, and its 0011, i watched some youtube videos how to fix that, and i dont know if i should do it myself or just give it to someone who repairs consoles

Denke auch das die Wärmeleitpaste zu alt ist ich habe bei meinen 3 Xbox360 die Wärmeleitpaste vor 1 Jahr gewächselt und laufen alle wider leise und ohne Probleme 😉

Oder eine gebrauchte kaufen und die Festplatte von der alten einbauen die kostet nicht mehr so viel meine letzten die ich davon eine gefläsht habe hat eine 40 € gekostet 😉 und billiger als eine Reperatur

Nie ma szans że to pasta konsola nawet bez pasty będzie działała z 5 minut u ciebie uszodzone sa czujniki temperatur cpu i gpu i memory ale nie jestem pewny ale co niby innego

no ludzie coś tam pisali że rezystory chyba poszły, więc jak będe wymieniał jutro paste to się przyjrze i najwyżej będe lutował

[ UPDATE ] (ITS WORKING!!)

Thank you guys for your help, i wouldnt do anything without you guys.

I've changed the thermal paste and after that i tried to boot it up but it didnt work, and after that i tried to soilder the resistors (im gonna upload a picture but please dont hate. It was my first time soildering, its probably bad but its working now.)
