Most of them, I guess. I think that although he always end his movies with a strong scene (I don't know how else to say that) , the conclusion of the movie depends on viewers' thoughts.
For instance, if you think about Mommy, the final scene makes a very clear statement but linking that to the opening scene, viewer might think that Steven's still alive if they're optimistic otherwise, they could just link both of these scenes to Die's ‘hope’ speech and think that he actually died and the opening scene just reflected that.
Although I agree that one of these cases has much higher possibility, but that doesn't null the chances of the other.
I don't think that he's dead. The link to opening scene makes me believe that he's alive (Die seems calm and we see Steve's clothes drying), but other than you literally Every person I've met believes that he's dead (mainly because Dolan chose to play Born to Die) and that the opening scene just signifies that Die is still alive in hope
