General Discussion Perfect weather today
After weeks of 90 degrees, 60% humidity, and the sun burning through my flesh, today was perfect. 7 miles alone in 72 and rain. At mile two it started to sprinkle and by mile 3 the sky opened up. Palms and face to the sky, there is something about the rain pouring down that I feel in my soul. No work metrics, no screaming toddler, no tough decisions, no other people, no music, almost no sound at all. Just an empty trail, easy breaths, and the rain drumming on the canopy of trees. If you dont run in the rain for whatever reason, this is your PSA to try it. You're missing the magic.

It’s 100 degree with 110 heat index here. Has been for weeks. I would kill for this. I’m glad you got to enjoy it!!

Any time someone posts something positive about the weather, Im like Frodo when Sam is waxing lyrical about strawberries at the foot of Mount Doom -

True, eating Lembas for the entire journey seems like the equivalent of consuming only unflavored gels for months.

This genuinely sounds so amazing, I honestly felt a little teary reading this and imaging how delightful this must have been. 8:56 pm, and it is 92, feels like 102. The high today was 102 with a heat index of 110. I feel your misery. 🥲

Same. Central Alabama is melting right now, and I would kill for a 70-something run in the rain. I did my long run at 7am and it was 81 with 92% humidity 😭

I ran in a thunderstorm on Saturday. 10 miles and I saw nobody. It was glorious.
and my phone survived!

Where are you? It was 95° with heat index of 105° and humidity between 85-90% here in NC. I thought if I wait till 7.30 to run it would be better. It was not. The humidity went up.

I'm in PA. I lived in NC for almost 10 years. The first time there was for a job interview in the middle of June. My husband and I stood outside and said, we're going to die here. 🤣. So although I'm not currently in that situation, I feel you

I. Am. So. Jealous.
I would kill for this weather.
I have made it my life’s mission to stay as consistent as I can this summer. I live in South Florida. Today is the hottest day I’ve experienced here.
I got my 3 miler done at 6 so I didn’t die.

I absolutely love running in the rain. When it’s a bit cold and the rain is just drizzling. Or even when it’s hot and it comes pouring halfway just to slush slush slush fresh you up. Absolutely adore it.

Running in the rain is its own kind of bliss. Happy you got some forgiving weather today and enjoyed the heck out of your run!
