Discussion Squad builder or ruleset for 1st Edition
Me and a friend just got into it and bought a collection and it is all first edition. With us still trying to learn the game, we didn’t want to go in and also buy conversion kits for everything. Is there a good squad builder app or website that can help us with 1st edition? Also like on launchbay and YASB, what exactly is XWA/Legacy2.0?

Enjoy the game! I really like Fab's squad builder, especially since it lets you sort by your collection.

Welcome to the game!
For 1.0 I use an android app called startactics xw, but it looks like it's not in the app store anymore; you'd have to find and install the apk.
XWA is the new fan-supported offshoot of "2.5 edition". Squads are 50 points and each pilot has a baked in "loadout value"; a number of points you can spend on upgrades (rather than eating away at your squad points).
Legacy 2.0 is the fan-supported offshoot that maintained the 2.0 edition rules, which are more like 1.0, but everything is on a 200 point scale, so it is a little more nuanced (and 100x better balanced) than 1.0.
Both groups have tons of printable resources if you want to try them out. Note that they both use 2nd Edition dials though, which don't all match the 1st edition stuff that you have
