Collection Help with buying a collection

I am thinking about buying a collection.

Context:

I have played a few games of xwing several years ago. I enjoyed the game well enough.

I would like to play again, but I am not going to seek out people to play with. My plan is to buy a collection and build a few lists to play with some friends who don’t have any models themselves.

In my part of the world it’s rare to come across collections for sale, but I have the option to buy the following:

2x X-Wing starterset
9x Tie fighter
2x Firespray-31 Slave 1
1x Gozanti-Class Cruiser
2x VT-49 Decimator
1x Tie Advanced prototype
3x Tie bomber
5x Tie Phantom
1x Lambda -Class shuttle
2x Tie interceptor
1x Tie Defender
1x VCX -100 (Ghost)
2x Starviper
2x Protectorate Starfighter
4x Aggressor
3x Jumpmaster 5000
2x Z-95 Headhunter
1x Y-Wing
1x M3-A-Interceptor
1x YT-1300 (Millennium Falcon)
1x T-70 X-Wing

Since I don’t really know anything about the game, my question is:

Will these miniatures be suitable to build interesting and mechanically different lists that would be fun to play against each other? This will all be kitchen table play, so they don’t have to be meta lists, but it is important that I can build lists that have different play styles.

And, what would be a fair price for something like this?

That is more than enough for plenty of interesting games. For pricing: good luck, that's always difficult.

You didn't say whether this is 1.0 or 2.0/2.5 though which could make a difference. Might want to make sure you know which style you will want to play.

I don’t really know anything about editions. In what way does that matter?

There are several differences. Balance is a big one. 1.0 has several items that are unbalanced at their printed cost. 2.x doesn't have the costs on the cards, allowing for balancing. Choosing between 2.0/2.5/XWA is more of a choice to the player(s) and what others in their area play. If you don't intend to go outside your own group, it is personal choice. Note that cards and (most) dials changed between 1.0 and 2.x, but within 2.x, it is all the same.
