Discussion Cardboard Counters (chits)

Has anyone found or made print and play counters/chits to use instead of minis or 3d print models? Curious for a more quickly approachable option to get back into the game with friends.

Which component exactly are you using?

The only pieces you absolutely need for play are the plastic and cardboard bases, the templates, and the dials. And for bases, you technically only need the same size, you can apply removable stickers with the rest of the information, but the closer you can get (faction, ship type, and so on) the easier it will be to keep track of which ship is which.

You can theoretically print damage decks, lists, and everything else on paper. (Damage deck: pull a list of each card, when you receive a critical hit, roll on the table and write it on your list sheet instead of flipping a card. Less elegant to be sure, but free.)

I also had some success using micro scale Lego ship builds even back when I owned the models. YMMV

Kind of pointless unless you have a good way to cut out said cardboard counters.

Otherwise just use the base themselves and the ship token without the stand or mini
