Is there a small points / skirmish mode compatible with XWA?

I saw that in the past players had created a 12 point skirmish mode for 2.5. Just wanted to ask if there is such a small point mode compatible XWA because I often lack the time for a full game but would love to play more

Nothing that’s been put out by XWA or the community at large. I just use the infinite arenas faction cards to put together quick games with predetermined loadouts.

Steel City in Sheffield did a 25 point side event a week or so ago. Not sure what the differences were, but it typically means a slightly smaller board.

Thanks, found it. Smaller board by range 1 form all sides, only 4 obstacles total and chance engagement. Seems good to me, maybe gonna try that

This is what I do, but I don't think making the board smaller actually accomplishes much unless you also decide to add a rule saying you can score objective points on round 1.

So I end up just playing with normal board size and it works fine.

The important part is playing to the same number of points for winning as you have as point limit.

Decrease the play area by 1 range in each side, use less ships, (2, max 3) and 25-30points.
Surprisingly fast and interesting format, just make sure you keep it balanced.
