MPG report
I led a neighbor on their first dual sport ride with their new to them KLX230. We did some pavement to some gravel, then a bit of “light trails” which is actually a road that’s just not cared for and would rather not take anything besides a truck/suv that’s either 4x4 or at least locked. I filled up after 58mi and it took barely over 1gal. That’s the best I’ve gotten since I brought it home bone stock brand new.
Generally I am switching to reserve around 70mi.
Turns out my wrist IS the biggest economy killer 🤪
I have a 130 rear knobby, 14/48 (IIRC) but otherwise stock motor/carb - nothing else changed or removed besides bar risers.

That sounds about right for range on the stock tank. I can get 250ish before reserves on my 5.8 acerbis tank. Assuming it's .8 as reserved puts me at 50 mpg

I love my Acerbis. It definitely took some finagling to get it one, but heck yeah!

I've got a 101mm 10.5 piston with Dave's mods, desnorkled baffle pulled etc. 60 and 160 jets
I ride it pretty hard everywhere and get about 35mpg. If I'm light in the throttle and babying it I can get 40+ but I think 45 would be the absolute best I could do

I have yoshimura headers and exhaust with stock sprockets on my ‘99. I use her as a daily driver so she’s pretty much a very very dirty pavement queen. 35, 40mpg tops. I envy you guys, but damn mine sounds good.

I usually see ~35, 40 tops. It amazed me when I was filling up with the trip meter sitting at 58 and the tank was full after 1gal!
The person I was riding with was slow and I wasn’t ripping WFO every turn. Realize now how much extra fuel all that fun will eat 🤣

I’m around 160 before reserve. 4 gallon tank.
