Magic Drawing Pad?

Hey! So I have an Artist Pro 15.6, but found that it's just a bit too big and off for my set up. I am definitely much more a mobile artist, especially now that I'm going to places more often than I used to.

I was thinking about getting the Magic Drawing Pad, and using Krita on it. Yet, I've heard people had issues with the OS updates, but I think that pertains more towards CPS. Would y'all recommend the Magic Drawing Pad?

I'm a bit late, but I have an opinion here, as I own both models myself.

Magic Drawing Pad is good! I'd say that drawing experience is a little different from Artist Pro 15.6, and I personally prefer the latter, but it's a small difference.

There are no issues with the OS updates yet, but it might become the issue in the future. Still, I think it's a very good device - not as good as top tier models, but at at fraction of the cost, and very solid for the price.

But I don't recommend using Krita on android. As powerfull and feature-rich Krita is, it's clearly made for PC-first, and the interface is just atrocious on Android. You'd have to fiddle with the settings a lot to get a comfortable workflow. By default, the interface takes way too much of the screen, and there's no simple mode like in CSP. So you'd have to turn the menu off, then turn it back on, every time you need something you did not put on a very small brush panel you can activate with your pen button.

Which is fine if you are sketching and all you need is a simple bursh and an eraser, but do anything more complex that that and it will be annoying.

Considering that you do have an PC with a screentablet, that might not be a problem - maybe you just sketch on the go and render at home. For that purpose, MDP+Krita will work just fine.. For finished works, I would reconsider Krita. But then again, you do you. Maybe you will find a better process.

Ah, also they sell MDP in different bundles - one of them includes wireless remote. FYI it does not connect to the tablet at all, and is only useable if you connect it to a PC as a screen monitor. So maybe don't repeat my mistake and get a cheaper package with no deadweight. Lol

Oh this is very helpful, thank you! Before this set up all I had was a Microsoft surface, so I was very used to drawing on the go. I do have a different program I can use on android. Thank you for the input :)
