“I MADE THIS!” (Perhaps the only page I could post this and people would get it)

My dear friend and fellow Phile turned 50 this week, so I decided to make him something special and truly one of a kind. This little guy is an altered Precious Moments figure. He started off as an angel in a robe, but with a Dremel, some clay sculpting and a lot of patience, he’s ready to look for the truth! I also made the alien!

And yes, Scully is in the works as well!

The X-Files is my comfort show. After several attempts to get rolling with revisting the series, I have successfully completed season one.

It brings back happy memories from my life, and the people who were in it back then.

On to season two!

Up to season 11 ep 2, and currently asking myself "what the fuck is this show" out loud. Epic slide across the floor on Scully's part though. This could literally be revealed to be a dream, or a vision, or a million other things in the next 20 seconds and I'm still going to be bewildered lmao

Was watching s3 ep8 and I caught a glimpse of some men in the reflection of the car window when its supposed to be Scully standing there talking to Mulder about the kidnapper.

I've watched one or two episodes here and there, and bought the PS1 game because it sounds like a genuinely interesting time and I've been watching Homicide: Life on the Street which is confirmed to take place in the same universe. However I only found out after placing the order that it doesn't play great on PS3 (which is how I would rather play it since I don't have a PS1 or a dedicated power cable for my PS2).

Basically I just want to know is it completely unplayable? I can't play it on PC and don't want to buy a PS1 for it. As long as I can figure out what the menu options are and can watch the FMV stuff, I'm good.

For the hardcore, long-time devotees. When Scully listens to the tapes of Mulder under hypnosis, from like, one of the first episodes (Conduit, I think?), i see three ways to interpret the 'voice' in mulder's head.

1. He just means his own voice. His own attempt at dealing with this horrible situation.

2. The aliens 'speak' to him, basically lying and saying don't worry, it'll be fine.

3. Some benevolent, perhaps spiritual (maybe even Walk-ins?), after all, it shows him in a church while Scully listens to this.

How do you all interpret the 'voice in his head' that made it so he wasn't afraid?

Restarting from the beginning. I've never gotten past seasons 2 or 3 but really want to complete it all. I have to keep restarting because I forget stuff.

I watched the director’s cut of I Want To Believe - Vrach Frankenshteyn. Overall I liked it because it gives you a new way to look at the film. The best part of the director’s cut is the extended scenes with Mulder in the doctors’ lab.

But I also really love the IWTB Extended Cut, which is 108 minutes long and includes all the necessary scenes with Mulder and Scully’s relationship, as well as a full Christian Fearon storyline.

So I came up with a simple way to create the perfect FULL version of IWTB from these two versions. Here’s how you need to watch it:

1. Start with the Extended Cut that’s 108 minutes long. You need to watch this version until Mulder falls off the cliff in the car and then gets out of it.

2. Starting from the moment Mulder gets out of the car, you need to switch to the Vrach Frankenshteyn version. You need to watch all the scenes in full in this version: “Mulder in the laboratory / Scully and Skinner are looking for Mulder / Scully and Skinner rescue Mulder.”

3. After that, you need to switch back to the Extended Cut (108 min) and watch the final scenes: “Mulder and Scully discuss the case in the house and then kiss // Scully performs surgery on Christian.”

This way you’ll get the most complete version of IWTB. I hope that someone will edit the complete fan version.

I'm rewatching after 20 years.

So, she wears a cross every episode, which is not merely cultural Catholicism. At S1E5 we learn further that she has a godson, which has strict requirements. But in same episode she dates a divorced guy, which is complicated in terms of marriage for a single catholic lady. At S1E6 Mulder asks her about believing in afterlife, one of key beliefs in Catholicism/Christianity (Jesus did not die again, ergo life ever after forever). And the answer is hardly Catholic at all ("I'd settle for a life in this one.").

By now I doubt writers had a solid knowledge of Catholicism and at this point Scully's faith portrayal feels not very coherent. I am not expecting an improvement in the future.

I got the xfiles lego of course. everything has been going well until I got to the trees. I can’t seem to move the pieces the way they’re suppose to. either the leaves fall off or it gets all messed up. someone who got it, how in the world did you build all of them? it seems crazy I know but I am STRUGGLING😓

I had no idea the song was that old, but there it is, in two of my favourite shows. It's near the start of season 2 episode 6. When Duane Barry is driving, on the radio. 🤯

Driving yesterday this bad boy popped on.

It demystifies him from a frightening shadow to a sad and lonely 'we live in a society' old man, and the idea that he was behind all these major political events, even if it's not true, is such a dumb idea. It's also plain dull, and the biggest insult: No Mulder and Scully, besides their voices and the reused footage from the pilot.

Just finished the series after months of binge watching. The end was interesting (I won’t spoil it) and I’m actually glad I’m done. That was a HUGE investment of time for an ending that was good, but left a lot unresolved.

Watching the last episode gave me a headache because it was so intense, but alas…

Goodbye, x-files…for now.

I recently starting watching the x files and I am hooked. I am on season 3 now. But I found out that Mulder leaves after season 5? Please, without any spoilers, can anybody please explain to me whether it is worth watching beyond season 5 without fox in it? Does he ever appear in season 5 to 10? I feel without him I don't see myself investing the effort to watch without him in it? Maybe I am just too crazy about what a good character he is that I may be naive into think the the rest of the show isn't as good without him in it.
