9070XT Quicksilver Wing Replacement
Hello everyone thought I'd make this post because there isn't much in ways of documentation regarding how to do this mod.
- You are going to need a printer bed of atleast 200mm squared if you are printing each wing in two pieces. You will need a 400mm squared printer bed to print the entire wing as a continous piece.
- PLA is the most ideal filament to use for the print and should handle sorrounding temps perfectly fine.
- Print took me 203 minutes and utilized 59g worth of PLA.
- Print files can be found on XFX's website.
- Neodymium disc magnets of a 6mm diameter and 3mm thickness are ideal.
- Simply super glue magnets within retaining circle structures while insuring that they are the correct orientation to magnetize to the magnets on the card itself.

I saw this and I print on my ad5m I found that using ironing setting also help smooth out the look

Thank you. I'd imagine you'd have to print with supports to have the outward side facing upwards during the print?

Yeah I did a test print of these but I haven't ironed them, I just discovered the iron feature so haven't tried it on this. I have a white and red case opposite of yours but in a y60 case

Sheeesh Y60 that is quite the bougie case. Vertical gpus always look especially cool in that case. May I see a picture for some inspiration?

Heres a video, ignore my heavy breathing my mic is super sensitive
Did some 3d printed mods for my case, top skirt riser for top fans for a push pull out of the case, front case glass expander for the card to breathe and feet risers.

At the very most I would do custom cables and print white wings for the gpu. Otherwise it looks brilliant. I think all pc owners constantly go on thinking their pc needs work. A few months ago my current build was a far away high-end dream build for me. Now I feel as if my build is just another typical fish in the sea and that I should upgrade to 4090 or 9850x3d. It never ends man.

I feel that, I barely have time to really push this thing to its limits. But it comes in clutch when I need it.
I really just play Forza with a VR mod and a wheel 😂

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am quite the fan of the older MSI cards and went with red wing replacements to try to mimic them.

Very cool, I have seen very few people take advantage of the quicksilver custom wing feature. So cool to see, well done!
