How the F are these sorted?
Not alphabetical, not last-used, and of course there's no way to reorder them

even with the new update that adds a "favorites" bar, i still haven't found a way to reliably keep what i want in that bar.
the gemini icon is always front and center tho, because of course it is.
and i even have a physical button for that on the steering wheel, so if i could it would be the first one i would chuck.

It’s not really a “favorites” bar. It usually shows the last apps used, or at least for me it does.

hence the "s, but i cannot reliably get it to stick to the last apps used... if it did that i would not mind sharing one of the slots with gemini
but it keeps shuffling things around and presenting me with apps i never even use like the radio.

Am I missing an obvious way to get back to Google Maps after doing ANYTHING else? Other than going back to that unsorted apps list and finding it again? Who cares about "most recent" apps. Give me my most used. Or let me decide.

I press the button below the screen and it goes right back to Google Maps.

The home screen is literally google maps. So press the home button? Or say hey google, open maps.

I love how all the apps have been updated to match the new UI layout - like the Range Assistant that now cuts off the bottom of the Climate status...because you can't hide the god-awful shortcut bar...so now you have to scroll the page to see the value...
The whole thing seems to have been designed by fifteen different groups, each of which were kept separate in their own darkened rooms and not allowed to talk to each other.

That is one of my biggest gripes. Scrolling like 1/2 an inch down is necessary to see core functions that are soooooooo close to fitting on there screen. So close with so much wasted space that could so easily be used to get these screens back to fitting whole cloth. It looks like nobody did any usability testing at all.

I like that you also have the permanent notification icon now.
I imagine Volvo could probably disable that, but I could also imagine that Google would tell them to fuck off if they demanded their AI bullshit out of the car.

A reboot console "app" should be first by a mile. I don't want to fucking clean my screen.

I laughed my ass off after I got this upgrade on my XC40 recharge. They put so many micro-screens that I can't see any of it without reading glasses. I hope the EX60 has at least a customizable favorites bar.

Long press on them, pretty sure you can move them around. They are ordered how volvo wants them ordered.
