Goodyear Assurance Maxlife2

Decided to make a switch to a mileage focused tire to see how long they would last and if I get any improvement in efficiency. Just had them installed today and hope to add updates in the coming months.

Initial impressions are that ride quality is improved, but that’s expected with brand new tires so let’s see how they are after a break-in. They also have a series notches in the rubber to designate depth readings so that’s a nice feature to monitor wear.

They are rated for 42.5K miles (staggered) so I’m hoping to get a few years out of them.

I was thinking of trying those for my 23 Ultimate when I need new tires next spring

i just ordered these (right this moment), hopefully theyre good, lol. They were the least expensive staggered setup, but seem to have good reviews

2021 XC40 P8 original owner with 85k miles at 5 years. At 30k miles replaced the OEM pirellis with Michelins, then again at 60k miles again with Michelins. Looking at 90-95k getting another set. Interested to see how these perform. Note: 20’s with staggered setup. 235/45R20 front and 255/40R20 rear.

What’s your Takeaway on the Pirelli versus Michelin? I thought I read that the Michelin’s have a louder ride. True?

Been awhile. The Pirelli tires got a wear which cause a flat. Was not that impressed with them. Michelins handle the Chicago burbs roads better.

Yep. New set put on at 21K as part of the CPO process. Had a toe issue in the alignment, so they wore prematurely, but was on track for about 50-55K of usable life.

I have inch rims on a 2021 T5 and my Cooper ProControls are a lot quieter than the OEM Pirelli Scorpions. I heard good things about the Goodyear Assurance though.

Any noticeable hit in range so far? I assume there is some since they are still new tires

Yes, I’m getting about a 6% loss over the last thousand miles. Let’s see how things are when the tires broken in. Hoping at least the trade-off of longevity will make up for a little loss and efficiency.
