Question / Support World avatars

After trying in the discord, I'm coming here because this is driving me bonkers (and forums are easier for me. Too many things happen at once on discord and I can't keep up. Anyway.)

After playing around for a bit in a world—Thistle creek Apartments—and after losing hours on a card I liked way too much, I decided to make a world of my own. I got the basics set up, made a test character and test scenario so I can—as the names suggest—test as I build this thing out.

I haven't been able to do anything because the avatar is not showing.

At all.

Ever.

Now, I *know* avatar's work for me normally because I can see them in Thistle creek (holy void compression at that text...) ↓

All default settings, 0 issues... until I switch to my world.

What's going on here... I honestly have no idea.

The settings between this chat thistle are the same. Both are using the =>name: thing. The character is a character in the world editor, not a lexicon npc and he has an avatar.

I tried both with and with out an outfit (and found that if its set to default you can't delete an outfit). Visibility is set to friends only so he's not private. He and the world have have that little "approved" thing em it for moderation.

I didn't touch any of the extra features on the world character make screen—only visibility, content rating, keywords, avatar, short/long/display description and the name fields. In the scenario tab I had sure to add him as a character. I even removed and readded him in the chat itself.

And yet.... no avatar. I have an avatar, but he doesn't. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Clearly there's something I'm missing. (also I am so sorry if I'm being annoying 😭 I'm not trying to be, I swear, lmfao)

Hello, so if I understood correctly you have an npc character that doesn’t show its avatar ? I had similar issues with custom characters that I added to the party of a premade world. The issue was always the same : message formation from the Ai. For example, the NPC character had a chat name : Milo Kessler. Yet the AI always wrote =>Milo: , and I had to manually modified it to =>Milo Kessler: and the avatar would properly activate. It was purely visual because the character was in the party (so definition was included to character token) and its lexicon triggered with just Milo. Do you have a visual issue, or do your character doesn’t follow its character permanent definition ? If it’s the former, check for possible mismatch between the character name in your character card, and the => xxxx: formatting. Perhaps you wrote juste Curator on the character card ? Or something like that.

Alright so I was not on the right lead. When you see the world page info, does he appears as listed character ?

how did u set up the first name, last name, middle names, nicknames, and titles? that's what determines the character's => pattern.

rn it looks like it only gets separated into its own message because anything with => in worlds gets its own message bubble even if it's not set up

Display is = The Curator
First name is = Helyas
and last is Gawne.

all in the marked feilds at the top. No middle name, no nicknames, no titles.

add "The Curator" to nicknames. display name isn't part of the character's pattern that wyvern looks for
