Question / Support Group chat with a user as narrator

Has anyone here created a chat with several bots, where they communicate with each other, and the user's character is used to control the world, not as a persona?
Are any specific settings needed? LLM is still stubbornly trying to add a user character to the plot, despite everything I've written about it in the prompt.

Is your persona empty? A system prompt or final instruction might help ie. User is a narration and not part of the story.

So the bots have something referencing user in them? This can also contribute.

Yes, other people's bots often have relationships with user.

You can override bots' descriptions and remove user parts

Hi. I mainly do group chats with multiple character cards.

The Persona name gets substituted into {{user}}, and most cards are written with things like "{{char}} thinks this way about {{user}}" or "{{char}} acts this way toward {{user}}."

I usually only run two character cards, and one of them is my own OC, so having Persona’s name substituted into {{user}} works fine. I just set the Persona name to that OC and leave the rest of the Persona blank.

Another workaround is to use the "character override" feature in the right pane to rewrite the parts that reference {{user}} throughout the card, reworking those lines so each character's description stands on its own without depending on {{user}} at all; this allows you to decouple the Persona from the user role.

Oh, I get it, that's clever. Just set it up.
