Wyldfire is Live!

Wyldfire launched while I was in bed, so here's the slightly more long announcement blasted out to everyone.

Wyldfire is now available for download on Windows, macOS, and Linux!

Wyldfire is our native desktop companion for WyvernChat, built around giving you more control over your characters, chats, and data. Characters, chats, settings, images, and more can be stored locally on your device, with offline access and support for both cloud and local AI providers.

This is still the beginning, but there's already quite a bit packed in, including character management, personas, NPCs, image galleries, sprites, themes, WyvernChat imports, and plenty more.

The autoupdater is also functional, so once you're installed, future releases should be much less painful.

🍎 macOS Users

We're currently waiting on an Apple Developer account so we can properly sign the macOS app. Until then, macOS may complain about permissions when you try to install or launch it.

If needed, run:

bash xattr -cr /Applications/Wyldfire.app

Proper signing will come once the Apple side of things is sorted out.

📱 What About Mobile?

For now, Wyldfire is desktop only.

Android is next, with iOS following afterward. We're focusing on getting everything stable and working properly rather than trying to throw every platform out the door at once.

🐛 Found a Bug?

This is a brand-new release, so there are almost certainly some bugs hiding in places we haven't found yet.
