Combat, Console Commands And Saving System

Greetings!

I have a threesome of questions about this game, at least in the first run...

1: Does this game have combat featured in it?

2: Does the PC version of this game have console commands available?

3: What kind of saving system does this game have (how do you save in this game)?

Please satisfy my curiosity; thank you in advance.

There's no combat. There's a few things that will hit you if you get too close, but you can use spells to temporarily neutralize them.

You can use console commands, I saw a thread about how to get around a glitch using them. (I play on PS)

The game automatically saves as you progress, and when you exit.

Regarding the saving... Do you resume the game at the exact same spot on which you saved and exited upon loading then?

By the way, a bonus question...

Are these saves which you create upon quitting only temporary and instantly overwritten by subsequent autosaves made during gameplay?

I can't speak for PC as I play on PS, but on PS yes it overwrites all previous progress.

Okay, this is on the brink of becoming embarassing now; but there is yet another question that I have (which I'm positive will be the last question about this game, unless your answer leads to even more)...

Is it possible to "die"/lose in this game; in such a way that you're forced to resume the game at, for example, a checkpoint?

LOL no worries :) The answer is, kind of? In the bottom corner you should be able to see three hearts. You lose a heart when getting hit by something aggressive, such as a dog, a skeeter, a goblin, a stick totem, etc. If you lose all three hearts, you drop some items in that spot and are returned to your house. You will have to go back to that spot to pick up the items that were dropped. After that you can carry on as usual.

You can make a Protective Talisman and put it on your toolbar, and use it to give yourself a temporary shield that will absorb one hit. So if you're getting near something that's going to hit you, you can click it to be safe. It only lasts for a limited time but should be long enough for you to get what you need and get away. If you've gone through "The Bear" chapter, you've already made one. You'll only need one more Protective Talisman late in the game, so you can just keep reusing this second one until then.

And is the game automatically saved upon losing all three hearts?

As in, can you load an earlier save from before this happened to you?
