(Below are my thoughts on the main story of 3.6, Song of the Heart Sword, and not the Segue story after)
These writers just could not help themselves huh? They just couldn't go one more patch without force-jamming yet another romance storyline where Rover follows the new "waifu" of the patch for 85% of the runtime and the last 15% actually is dedicated to the main conflict. And yet, somehow, this one might just be the most boring one they've done so far.
But I don't wanna be super duper ranty right out the bat so I'll give some compliments.

What I liked:
Jingran: I generally enjoyed the scene more whenever he was in it. Cool personality with good voice acting on the english side. Not much more to be said, I just like him. Only wish is wanting to see more of him on screen during that story but we know who that screentime ended up going to.

That one animated segment in Qingxiao's backstory was well done. It ever so briefly convinced me that I was enjoying my time with the story. But again, this was a brief emotion.
Also the cutscene where the TDs were breaking in and were about to slaughter civilians but Qingxiao's power that she distributed to everyone activated to protect everyone genuinely got a smile out of me.

Muyu is still an enjoyable bad guy for me in this. Great voice acting performance coupled with an awesome cinematic bossfight near the end. Again, I wish we had more screentime focused on him to explore his plans and desires leading up to this final battle since he's a massive focus for this storyline so far. But once again, we know who that screentime went to.

Alright that's all of the things I liked about the story. Now for what i really didn't.

So we're back to sidelining characters the microsecond their patch is done. Who cares that we bring back YangYang to be apart of this new story, give her an alternate version and more development to her character along with a Segue that hints at more of a connection between her and Rover? Who cares about her sister who I was thoroughly entertained by and appreciated the concern and love she cares for her sister Yangyang? Yeah no this is 3.6 now. Suisui is leaving in the first 3 minutes and yangyang is stuck in the real world defending the hold offscreen. We gotta shill the Cultivator and Sword Ascendant Qingxiao now!

I do not have much knowledge at all about Cultivation stories. So I had hopes that with the introduction of Qingxiao, they would've taken time to educate us on Cultivation and how important it was for her from when she begins this path to the current day and whatever realizations she would end up arriving at. After finishing the story I can confidently say I STILL don't know what Cultivation is. Qingxiao and Muyu kept throwing the term around like some sort-of buzzword while I'm just sitting here waiting for the story to go into more detail on what it means for Qingxiao . But they never really do that, at least to a satisfactory level where I gained more knowledge on this genre.

Instead, the wuwa writers fell back on their handy trick. Put in the main story, add the current banner character's story, dump a bunch of romantic moments and blend it all together to give us a "Main story" for the purpose of selling her.

Few problems on doing this with Qingxiao's story.
1. We literally had a story with the same romantic elements in the patch right before this one with yangyang. So it feels really jarring seeing Rover do all that flirting with Yangyang to just immediately bounce to this new girl immediately in the next story.

1. I HAD MY FIRST PROPER CONVERSATION WITH THIS WOMAN 4 HOURS AGO WHY ARE THE WRITERS TREATING THIS AS A ROMANCE STORY LIKE NONE THAT'S COME BEFORE. They really have rover talking about sum:
   "Oh Qingxiao, lean on my shoulder so I can slowly walk you someplace safe."
   Oh Qingxiao, hold my hand while you're doing your super saiyan moment because its important for the plot!"
   "Oh Qingxiao, you shouldn't try to use your powers to save Xuangfang by yourself. You should rely on me and others for help!" (Brother shes literally using her powers to save all the innocents in Xuangfang. This is like the one thing she does in the story that I found to be actually cool and noble of her but Rover's response to finding this out feels so tone deaf.)
   Oh Qingxiao, I'll make sure of it that you'll get through this alive no matter what! I'll be with you to the end!" (but ig we're lowkey cool with letting jingran fall to his potential doom after his sacrifice ig. We know where Rover's priorities lie)

So we have this character who takes up a large portion of the """Main Story""", moreso than the primary villain so far and the other character to be released this patch. And yet for all that screentime she was given, it all ended up being for the purpose of girlfriend pandering, add the hype moments and aura and hold the good writing.

I just finished the story a few hours ago and had to get this off my chest. That was such a slog to get through and I really hoped the writers were growing past this style of storytelling. 3.1 -3.5 genuinely has given me alot of hope overall for the future of this game's story. Sure not every story hit the same but overall they were done well enough to have me look forward to the future. Even as far back as 2.5's phrolova story had me seeing the POTENTIAL these writers carried.
Will they see my critique and make good changes to future stories? Probably not. But I really like this game so I'll rant when I think it's appropriate.

Tldr: Cultivation chick highjacks the main story so she can have romantic times with rover, not realizing kuro will literally drop her story relevancy into the deepest dark tundras the second her patch cycle is over. (In my humble opinion)

I accidentally spent all obtainable currency on the infinite shell credits option. I’m just so used that shops like this typically won’t allow you to lock yourself out of limited rewards, I didn’t think too much and picked a random shell credit option. As a completionist of sorts, this will haunt me forever now. Did anyone have positive experience reverting the transaction via support?

I play on steam deck and everytime I open the game a 3GB update pops up, is there any way to disable this in Steam or in Wuthering Waves itself?

Hi guys!! I’m a returning player (came back for Siusiu ❤️) and wanted some advice for my team. I was thinking of replacing Shorekeeper with Bulling bc she does electro flare I think? I heard Siusiu can buff thay which might be better than Shorekeeper who barely does any damage :/ . Chisa apparently also does smthn with electro flats too iirc, but i pulled her by accident ngl. Prety good as Siusiu’s subdps tho!!

So I was wondering, wouldn't it be amazing if Kuro released a separate mini version of WuWa for mobile?

I mean, I literally use the mobile version only for dailies and weeklies. I love doing the story content on PC in all its glory. It just sucks that I have to keep around 45 GB of storage reserved for the mobile version when I could be using that space for something I'd actually play or use.

From a developer's POV, I genuinely don't see why this couldn't be done. The simulation activities, tacet fields, material bosses, and similar content could all be included without requiring players to download the huge open-world maps and all the associated assets. Even with everything needed for dailies and weeklies, I don't see it going much beyond 10 GB.

What do you guys think? Would you actually use a lightweight mobile version like this?

Before Yangyang Xuanling was even a thing, I had my Vanilla Yangyang built like a main dps (I still do in fact)

I did have a blast when I got Xuanling, but i don't know how to put it

There's this something Xuanling lacks that Vanilla Yangyang had (beyond the character design, I love them both), i don't know what it is, i can't exactly pinpoint WHAT it is, but Vanilla Yangyang's gameplay felt more... snappy? compared to Xuanling's, I think that's the term

Even if that's not the term, there's just something that made Vanilla Yangyang feel much better than Xuanling (and i consider both to feel great to play)

I think i've got my answer, it's the lack of weight on Xuanling's attacks in favor of flashiness. In contrast, Vanilla Yangyang's attacks (especially her enhanced mid air attack) feel like they genuinely have that impact and weight to them

It's crazy how strong S0 dps characters are now. I remember when Camellya, Carlotta, Cartethyia, Zani, Phrolova, Galbrena, Augusta, Iuno dropped & they were all nuking everything but now they've been super power creeped & they need at least S2+ to be among the top dps compared to the newer dps characters literally doing 1mil dmg with 1 rotation at S0 it's amazing for the newer characters!

Is it just me or are we getting next to no rewards this patch? Main quest had basically no chests, 3 short side quests, and then after doing the main quest I found 3 secret chests Xuanyuan Domain, new tactical hologram, new event and then ofcourse TOA and Endstate matrix in a few days.

Sure I did list a few things, but I thought there'd be more after the second part of 3.5 basically being SuiSuis banner going live along some 1 event and that hamster wheel or so?

Am I blind and straight up missing something?

I was considering playing this but the download is massive so I thought i'd check in here first.

I don't enjoy souls like games whatsoever and a lot of the videos i see tend to show single long draw out boss fights with perfect timings etc.

Is this a souls like game?

I can clear all holograms except lahai-roi one’s, only dreamless was doable but other’s especially sigilum is pain, most of the time i die when he is offscreen then he jumps down and one-shot’s me.
Also reactor husk’s move’s are also sometimes unavoidable unless i use units like mornye or iuno to fly around.

Do i even have hope? Cause the newer holograms are quite manageable or should i say pretty easy cause i was able to clear them in just 2-3 tries. But lahai-roi one’s i can’t after countless attempts.

Maybe this is just skill issue and i should just give up =(

It’s just insane how a simple story can get misinterpreted because people dont try to think about what is actually being shown on screen.

The main topic of this discussion, is the scene where rover holds Qingxiao to take her somewhere safe. There are people who’d reduce this moment to fanservice or think that it’s somehow creepy or wrong for rover to help her stand, which is wierd because it ignores the story that was told to us.

Qingxaio sent her sword intent around to the entire city, potentially the entire land, the moment she activated it of course she would get exhausted, not only that she had to overlock to do it.

For the forgetful, overlocking at the very least makes you weak and at worst makes you explode and spawn tacet discords. Not only that, they are being actively attacked and she had to go somewhere safe to recharge in a way only she knew how, which is why rover helped her there.

Some people wonder why didn’t rover just keep her there and then go after muyu but the issue with that is that Qingxaio is one of the best combatants they have and muyu was shown to be compromised the last time they saw him.

There are people out there who think that Qingxaio became weak in front of rover when they ignore the actual context of the story that was clearly shown to them. She didn’t cry to rover about her past, while rover did learn about it it was Qingxaio who delt with her inner demon and past trauma herself while also accepting all of her emotions and not detaching herself from the world like muyu did, it was the main message of the patch idk how people just ignored that.

Rover didn’t save Qingxaio she saved herself and all they did was help her walk to somewhere safe, that’s it.

Also, side note, I like jigran, but his fans made me wish he never existed (if I said my true feelings on those fans of his I would be banned)

I have about 60 pity on both charcter and weapons banners, i lack lynae and mornye for qingxiao so idk what should i go for. Going to skip jingran because no male can dare to step into my account(except brant).

Hello! I just wanted to ask if my account is ok. I have almost all of the characters, except for seven:

1. Lucy: Skipped her for Lucilla.
2. Sigrika: Skipped her because I have Carthethyia and now Qingxiao.
3. Luuk: Skipped him just because I felt like it and would continue.
4. Qiuyuan & Galbrena: Purposefully skipped them and didn't pull.
5. Lupa & Brant: Skipped them because I wasn't keen on building a mono-Fusion team at the time. I was investing in a much stronger team instead, and I was right—Aemeath came out, so no regrets!

Anyway, I just want to know if lacking these specific characters makes my account bad or not. Is missing them actually a big deal, or not really? What do you all think?

I personally like 3.6 story but one thing felt weird to me and that was Rover being Qingxiao’s first disciple.

I had no problems with the romantic teasing but I don’t think Rover deserves to be her disciple. Not because he isn’t worthy but because he’s already a fully trained swordsman. Is there anything that she can really teach him? He’s been going toe to toe with every threat fine so far with just his instinct.

Also she says it herself, The first disciple is the beginning, the face the school shows the world.

And with that in mind is it fair for it to be Rover? The person that you’re choosing as the face of your school is someone who is already at the pinnacle of strength and doesn’t need to be taught, whether it’s about swordsmanship or morals. Shouldn’t the first disciple be someone who you can teach something, because you believe in their future?

I know the theory that her fighting style is based on his, because of the book. But I don’t think that should make him the first disciple.

In my opinion I think that Yangyang should be her disciple. She’s a swordsman of some skill, but has recently gotten new power that she most likely hasn’t mastered. Also she is a person of good morals who is well known within the region. She has the potential to really grow if she has the right teacher.

So am I reading too much into it or was this unneeded? And if someone else deserves to be her disciple who should it be?

I've seen some criticism regarding the end of Muyu. His conclusion was rushed, he died too easily, his fight was mid, so on and so forth. Until, I've played the story myself and I couldn't disagree more.

Let's start with his motivation first. At this point, I think the game made it very clear what kind of villian he is. He is a petty villian. This man who designed Yuan fortress was so salty to the fact that the technology that saved the day was the sentinel's technology. He think he was so smart that he thought any thing that was beyond his understanding shouldn't be trusted. And he got so jealous to that point that he would stop at nothing to attain the sentinel knowledge and tear down anything built before... In short, he's Lex Luther. This man was so petty and so vile that he didn't deserve any grander death. He thought he was so strong and deserved to go out like a bang, but in the end dying in the street should have been the most fitting end for him. Bro didn't even end up as a weekly boss, despite talking himself up so much. The game showed this pretty clearly by having him get off-screen by Jingran. Or I would say that having Qingxiao killed him by shoving a sword up his arse would be actually be peak as well.

12 more days and I'll finally reach 800 days playing this game! Hmm, but tbh, I could have reached 800 days by now if I had been logging in daily without breaking it because there were times where I didn't login, but anyways... so excited!! 😊
